Nutrients turned in Yellow Clump

I am pretty new to organic growing and have never heard of anyone having this issue... I dug a scoop out of the soil other day next to young plants and added a scoop of Dr Earth 4-6-3 and covered and filled with about a half cup of Worm Castings, a day later I watered with recharge... Earlier today I find under my soil a yellow mass or clump has formed from the amendments. It is dense and spongy. Has anyone ever seen anything like this and should remove it? There appear to be a number of springtails and other life all over it. Plants still appear to be very healthy but I just added amendments 3 or 4 days ago. This is the clump I managed to pull apart with a couple toothpicks.
