i did this along time ago it actually did work some. if you look up diy carbon filters you will find some excellent alternatives. Activated carbon, duct tape, some mesh and a inline duct fan should work great. around here an inline duct fan at my local hardware store costs about 25$ 4", 30$ 6" 35 8". you can find the duct tape there and the mesh screen, or an old window screen will work. and you can get the activated carbon at walmart or a fish store

yea I suggest making your own carbon filter,

btw KAOS: those inline duct fans dont push any more air than PC case fans and those are $2-4 bucks each and you can run lots of a an old pc power supply, they work great really, I was using JUST TWO to go through 14 feet of vent and through a large square 1000 hps vented hood and it worked ok. Six fans and now its excellent. So you could get allot more fans for the same price as one of those inline duct fans and push LOTS more air.

Holy crap whats an expensive pc fan lol.
First I use 4" ducting so the 120mm PC fans just fit in their almost perfect, I clip the corners off where the screw holes are and just stick them in their.

The 120mm ones are $4 at this place, If there is a used PC parts store around your area ya can get them from $1-2 there.

Thats interesting that that place says those push 250cfm
Home depot has those same fans and says the 6" pushes max of 160cfm and the 4" 80cfm.
I wouldnt listen to that place. Besides like I said you could have 4 Pc fans going for the price of one of the inline fans. I have a long duct so I think a bunch of the less cfm pusing pc fans do a better job than one or two of those inline duct can even though the pc fans push a little less air.

You using 6" ducting though that may be the way to go. 250mm pc fans arnt really common and probably expensive everywhere.

Do what you feel will work the best in your situation, just tryin to help. If I had the money I probably would just go get a blower.
