its a large closet but i have no way of bringing in fresh air. only wall i can cut a hole in is the wall that shares the wall with my kitchen. behind my fridge so no good for an intake. the air in the attic is too hot for an intake and i cant cut a hole in the door. i need to be as stealth as i can be.

so i could install a 4 inch carbon filter an fan on the wall and vent it behind the fridge? would it work with no intake? closet is 15 feet left to right and 5 feet front to back. ill be making a flower area out of panda film an using a 400w hps and a veg area on the opposite end of the closet also with panda film an cfls or strip lights. ill use the carbon filter on flower side if it would help. opinions greatly wanted.

You are going to need to find a way to introduce some fresh air. If you dont your plants will suffer and your end product will suck. The carbon filter will help with odor but will do nothing for stale air.

hmm attic air is too hot. one wall is shared with neibor an one wall is shared with living room. veg area wall is an outside wall and flower area wall shares kitchen wall. can intake and vent be on same wall?

i could cut a hole in flower wall low for intake an up high for vent. just veg an flower in same area for now. run two 5g bubble buckets veg first an flower after.

Open a window and circulate fresh air into the house, if your climate allows. Since you have no access to intake, you dont have access to exhaust unless you make one. Vent/intake your treated air into the house. Keep the air in the house refreshed. Some larger grows use a "lung" room to do process air.

I still think the 400W still falls in the Micro Grow catagory, Ive done a mixed 350W 250HPS +100WMH with only ventilation into a bedroom, Since discretion wasn't a big deal the fan simply circulated the stale room air over the plants, I wish I had a co2 monitor because I think this was an advantage, I think the bedroom had elevated C02 levels over normal fresh air, and could be a benefit.

The only problem I had was elevated RH during flower. I coudn't circulate fresh outside air in because it was simply too cold. However, no serious problems resulted.

if i understand venting correctly i must have an intake hole. im thinking a square hole cut low would provide fresh air from the kitchen. i keep a light on in the kitchen 24 hours a day so i may need to figure out a way to block light but not air from the intake. the fridge should block most of the light but i dont want any light leaks in my grow space..

i suppose i could vent into the attic space y running the ducting up to a flange over a hole in the ceiling. and just draw fresh air from the kitchen. that would solve stale air problems.one hole in the ceiling and one hole in the wall. i can run a fan in the kitchen to keep the air fresh an open my kitchen window if needed..

get a tent. get a fan and filter that has enough cfm to bring air through the bottom of the tent and exhaust out the filter

thanks but i have a limited amount of money for this project. tents are an extra 100-200 dollars. i have a kick ass closet and believe i can save money by using poly or something like it to curtain off a grow area.

just wondering what size tent would i need for a 400w hps, cooltube, fan, filter an ducting?

A 400HPS covers an area of 3ft by 3ft.

Unless your cupboard is air tight I don’t see why you couldn’t just run your exhaust into the kitchen, air intake would come from the air under the door, since if your pushing air out, air will be sucked in from somewhere else (unless your air tight).

You can make a veg box for a few bucks out of wood and or whatever. You dont need to spend on a tent in your situation.

You just need to make sure that one area is light proof.

thank you so much. i will rethink for a 3x3 space. that makes things more affordable. the passive intake is just the direct way to get plenty of air. its not air tight by any means so ill just vent in the kitchen. its the easiest way to duct.

i can buy a 10x25 roll. ill cut it in half an use a zipper kit. ill wrap it around the space and cover the walls with it. will prevent mold and good reflect.ill have enough left to cover the carpet. i cant remove it so best to cover it to catch spills an what not.
