Oil infusion problem

Hi Chefs!
I have some decarboxylated flower that tested 15% CBD. When I infused 1 oz of this decarbed bud into 8 oz of MCT oil (crock pot - 190 degrees, 4 hours), the CBD concentration dropped to 1%. Can anyone offer suggestions why I lost so much during the infusion? Thanks

Why cook so long if it's already decarbed?

You should have cooked it up and decarbed right in the oil.

Check out how I've done it with fresh bud from the link in my sig.

I forget what CBD breaks down into with decarb temps but you probably destroyed some the CBD overcooking it tho you diluted your 15% 8X so would only come out to just under 2% by volume in your infusion.

These are lab testing results are they?

Thanks man! Yes, these results came from a local cannabis testing lab.

I'll be making 3 different batches of RSO type extractions and sending samples off to a lab in Vancouver, BC that charges $60 for potency testing and say they will give me a senior's discount so a bit less. If I want terpenes then it's another $30 I believe. What are you charged for that?

The 3 types are regular THC pot strains, strains with over 2:1 CBD:THC and CBD derived from industrial hemp flower.

The local lab charges $40 for cannabanoid/conc profile. I had them test my flower, my decarb'ed product, and my infusion.

Not bad. That's about $52 Can so the place I found is in the ballpark and the best price I found anywhere in Canada with Health Canada cannabis testing certification. I haven't checked in near a year so may have gone up for all I know.

I just plan on sending in concentrate samples then I can make edibles or caps at known dosages. I do have some Seedsman 30:1 Cbd seeds to grow out and might just send in some bud samples to find the best mom. The guy who gifted me the seeds had one tested and it was almost 22% with just over one half of one percent THC. I've been wanting one like that for ages then I can make meds for my 96yo mom that should work better than the CBD oils my sister has picked up at the pot stores which use isolates in a carrier oil. I do not consider those good medicine. You need the whole plant extract to get the full medical benefits.

Tired of growing out various higher CBD strains looking for just the right ratios so with known amounts will be able to mix the ratios I want for various uses or people.
