My roommate came home one day last week with a fl.ounce of what she believed was a smokable cannabis oil. the Man she bought it of ( friend of a friend sitch) told her he made it with nothing but water. so when she brought this gooey deep brown gunk that smelt of hash with the consistency of chocolate syrup home, I was slightly confused...I have made oil with both Iso and butane...but I have never tried with water and it seemed a little off. we tried to cook it down more, because its still a little runny from my oil experiences. it does not cook down at all... we attempted to smoke this, it balloons up and bubbles like crazy, expanding like a marshmellow in a micro wave, but the lack of actual smoke is somewhat disheartening...when I looked up oils made with water I came across few answers, except about oils ment to be water soluble, for use in teas, or topically.... Does anyone out there know how we can smoke this? I'm not actually interested in ingesting this. I've never been that interested in edibles, I wanna get baked.... any info would be well appreciated, Thanks.

get a dab on a nail
heat up knife or a spoon on the stove till its about red cut the bottom off a soda bottle roll the nail on the spoon be ready to inhale the smoke as soon as it touches
it could possibly have coconut oil in it
dont use your moms silverware or any you want to keep nice

There are some process that use steam to extract oils from plants, Like Cedar oil, or oils from flowers ie.,
I've never heard of using straight up water to extract oils, because those oil are not water soluble. Some kind of organic solvent was allways used for the extraction.
Hash-Balls
Cut up some small tin foil squares 1/2-1/2" or so
take a tooth pick or what ever and spread the oil on the tin foil.
fold up the tin into a loose ball.
don't touch the flame to the Hash-Ball you just wanna heat it up until it smokes.
