Check it out, watch the video. Make your own for $20. Have you seen it? Whoever priced that is on crack. They discounted the price and it's still laughable. Especially when you can clearly see the materials used can be purchased by anyone, and is a DIYer's dream come true. If these people really wanted to make money, they should corner the pentane market, not take a 15 minute DIY project and mark it up 1000-2000% while still using DIY materials.
That being said.
I personally think that what it is, is awesome. I saw this in a Google search a while back when researching to build my own. Back then they were in the essential oils business, and not advertising for cannabis. Totally different kind of customer than the customer that grows their own weed. Bookmarked it immediately, as their pictures and video were my plans to build my own.
The pentane is a little pricey, but with 95% recovery if you do it right, it makes it totally worth it to make your own still and use pentane.

Pentane does a fine job extracting, though hard to keep around with its ~36C/97F boiling point.

I don't recommend canning jars for handling highly flammable liquids, because they are easily dropped or broken. That's why they won't pump gasoline into a class container at the service station pumps.

Yet not canning jars. The jugs of Alkanes we get from American Scientific are significantly heavier walled.

Of note, if you take an empty pentane jug to the service station, they still won't fill it, because there have been enough issues with glass and gasoline that there are laws against it.

most of this looks super easy but where can I get the piping? I guess any place that has stainless and bends it or do I even really need the bends?

I found a ss coil on Amazon for $13. I'll link it here tonight when I get home. You can bend it yourself just don't kink it. You can pick up a cheap pipe bender to do the job for a few dollars at a hardware store. It's actually easier to bend it like squares going around the jar. It doesn't matter as long as there is enough pipe to let the vapor condense and go into the other jar.
Doesn't even have to be ss really, since the only thing passing through it is the pentane. Copper will fit the bill just fine. Also, you actually want the coil above the inlet to the second jar. This takes a taller bucket, like a 5 gallon. This way pentane isn't sitting in the coil after it is done.

So, for $20-30 (and what, an hour?<- with toke breaks) and you can have something better than what they are selling for whatever price, $200 now I think, it is marked down from something lunar.
Watch them change the coil design now......

Edit: F it, I'll make a DIY thread sometime.

I store my 200 proof ethanol in 1/2g Mason jars after it comes out the rotovap. Granted I'm a 1 man show and refuse to allow anyone to help.so there is zero breakage

thanks man! I am going to try to make this guy can I just make the coil form around the inside of the 5 gallon and then to the center again and down into the jar?

Glad I found this thread. I saw the oilxgreen system advertised here and figured I could build one myself without too much outlay for material and time.

I was thinking about making my condenser coil above the collection vessel in such a way that I could put a frozen water bottle inside the coil to aid the process. Any thoughts on that?

@Fadedawg

Question for you about using pentane. Would it be possible/advisable to use pentane on fresh frozen material, or will I be better off drying like normal and then processing?

Thanks in advance.

I don't see why that wouldn't work. I was going to use a 5 gallon bucket filled with ice water. Since it's a sealed system I should be able to just dunk the whole thing in there.

My intention would also be to have the collection vessel in an ice bath, I just figured a bit of additional cooling couldn't hurt. That and it would cut down on the overall height of my collection side bucket not having to submerge the coil and all.

Thanks for the reply.

This'll be a fun little project.

Pentane works on fresh frozen material as long as you keep everything below freezing. I prefer hanging the plant until the small twigs snap, which typically takes around 5 days. It is still rife with terpenes, but less water and bulk to deal with.
