i know this is NOT withing spectrum. i stuck my ph meter in the water and it says my water (tap) is 7.5 or so. is this all OK or what needs to be corrected?

which is it your soil or your water?? your title says "my soil" but your post says your "tap water" lol which is it?? And if you dnt know how to PH your water that like trying to drive a car and not knowing where the gas peddle is...... you might be over your head and when i say might i mean its clear you are.......anyways if its your water your talking about then just go get some PH DOWN and then add it to your tap water tell it says 6.0

if ur in veg then get the ph down to like 6.4ish and during flowering try and keep it at 6.2 which is ideal. u have to buffer the soil down to the correct pH by using a ph down.(you can buy at walmart aquarium section) also ur nutes lowers ph. o yea make sure to add fert to the water b4 u add pH down to it or u might make the pH too low.

if you are in soil, use dolimite lime & you wont need to worry about PH, it will take care of your PH unless you are pouring battery acid on the soil.
next ??. how good is your meter? cheap garden store ones can be off. its easy to check, milk should be about 6.5,orange juice about 3.5 & ammonia about 11. my first was a combo moister/light/ph probe for about 5 bucks & showed everything I tested had a PH between 6.5 & 7.5.
