Ok two male plants 4 foot dropped in my lap. Please help no idea what to do. .

So my friend has a little grow op and he wanted to get rid of some males he had. Two plants that are already about 4 foot tall and supposedly near the flowering stage. So I have no lights nor decent setup. And where they need to be put, they are only by one window which doesn't get adequate light.

Soo what kind of light should I get? Right now I'm just using a 40 watt florescent shop light... which I know isnt shit. But my friend said it was better than nothing. And would work until I got what I truly need.

I looked on the newbie growing section of this website and alot of the links weren't available or missing.

So if anyone could drop some quick knowledge about fertilizers, how often to water... lighting.. just to keep these lil guys alive I would be forever grateful.

And since these are males are they even gonna be worth the time? I'd really like to get into this, so even if this is just a learning experience... fair enough. Just having them in my room, I have a slight glow in my mood. Really seems like the right kind of hobby.

By the way how do you know they are male?

Aside from the experience, male plants are absolutely useless. Order some feminized seeds from a reputable online dealer. There is no better buzz then one from your own budz, and males plants grow zero bud.

Also, if you want a truly awesome experience the best tool is knowledge. Do some reading and research. Asking for quick answers on this or any cannabis forum will get you all kinds of varying answers that may or may not be successful for you. Plan your grows and you will be handsomely rewarded.

Damn... yeah I'm pretty sure they are male... they have the little pollen sacks. In my continued reading I was hoping id have some hermaphrodites or something. At least to produce something to smoke. Fuck. 5 foot tall male plant a total waste? Fuck me man. Soo anyone have any idea what I can do with these male muthas to cop a buzz? Shite man!

You should first punch your friend in the balls for dumping his garbage on you, then you should read up on cannabis growing techniques and start planning your grow area, once you have your setup together you should buy some good beans from a reputable breeder, then you should never tell anyone about your new hobby, just pull out a fat doob of dankage to drop on your bandmates and tell em you got it from a friend, happy growing

could always grind up the stalks and smoke it heard that what kids are doing these days when in a pinch

as a girl, my first instinct is to giggle (because it is always funny to see...sorry), and then as a grower, my second instinct is to agree-OP's "friend" just knowingly dumped his garbage.

Do a 40mph drive by at your local pd.. Dump them in their laps to deal with.. Leave no finger prints

Ahh geez. You know my friend acted like it could be smoked in a pinch. He wasn't so sure on the details... but was sure glad to be rid of them.

So think I should continue to grow them? Or should I dry them out? Which brings me to my next question. How do you go about drying out the plants?

It almost looks like there is tiny little buds at the top of the stalks. But underneath those are the pollen sacks. :/ my friend made it seem like those tiny little buds would grow a little bit bigger if I gave em the proper care.

Now I'm just going to have him pony up a nice lil clone for doing his dirty work. And my friend... he's actually my drummer in my band that I "plugged" earlier. Chilli Flew & the no boys. Ohh and I wasn't trying to sell anything ... maybe just catch another stoner listener that's into some lofi anti punk. Smoking weed and listening to music is like bread and butta.

Anyhow.. thanks to all who took the time to reply. I'm really digging this site. Hopefully I'll learn the magic of growing the premo' and be able to pass the knowledge on to newbies as well.

Like people already said trash those plants. Watch some grow videos and read up on the basics. You aren't gonna get a step by step walk through by people on here when your first question is asking about smoking pollen sacks. I've had dozens of successful grows and still read up on growing constantly. Good luck in your future grows.

Sorry your friend mislead ya..kinda sucks... not sure I would call him much of a friend if he led you to believe you could score some smoke off of these... Now, stop reading cause this is where the mean SOB in me comes out, I would grow till they were ready to pop, collect the pollen and then go visit that friend....

I'm not about to pull some shit and get my karma all screwy. Besides.. his crop is going to be smoked with me anyhow.

I wonder if the trimmings could be useful. I roll my own cigarettes and I feel like I'll end up mixing some with a few bags of tobacco. Even if just for the taste... even if just for the placebo effect.

Any other suggestions besides using them as toilet paper?

Yeah man serious. Sorry to let ya think that im not real. I guess I'm having a tough time of giving up that smell I have in my bedroom, and wrapping my mind around the fact that the male counterpart contains no t.h.c. and that some stoner somewhere doesn't know some trick to turn it into something useful. Hopefully one that ends up with me getting stoned.

Yup deleted my comment because I didn't even want to get into this. Op most likely yanking chains. If your buddy was trying to grow buds and let those things get to 4ft tall before being able to tell those were male plants or didn't know male plants don't produce buds or both then you shouldn't be growing yet. You should be reading up and learning about growing before starting again. I can sometimes tell a male plant before it shows preflowers just by the way it grows. 4 ft haha. If you're being serious and are for real then toss them out. You don't know the 1st thing about growing let alone growing weed to start messing with a male plants pollen such as crossing strains for seeds. If you like hemp necklaces, keep them.
