Okay to dry some buds in tent while other plants still flowering?

I'm probably overthinking here but, I've got 4 plants going and they are all 4 different strains. they are all in the late stages of flowering and at least one of them is looking like it's ready for harvest very soon. the other three could use some more time. would it be ok to chop the one and hang dry them in the same tent while the other three are still going? I'm wondering if the light/heat from the light would affect the drying process at all? I want to keep them drying in the tent to contain the smell, otherwise I'd just hang em' in my closet.... any insight would be helpful and appreciated!

People do it. Watch it closely for heat etc and try to keep it as dark as possible. Eg above the light.

Yea i like it dark, cool and dry. Your tent ptob only gunna have one of those, low rh, all the time and one other only half time, dark. Unless you run a real cool room. But i dont like idea of light....

Get creative find a more suitable spot...

Yea I think I'm going to try to build a drying box with a duct booster fan sucking the air out of the dry box and venting into my grow room, which has a carbon scrubber. Hopefully that'll work and keep the smell down

You wanna keep them in the dark mate to lose the chlorophyll in the buds, you need to keep temps around 20ish rh about 60-65 and keep circulation in the area some people use a cardboard box with an inline fan pulling air through and into their main tent to scrub the air

Thank you! and yes, I believe that's what I'm gonna do with the box and duct fan exhausting into my tent.

I knew there was a reason you wanted things dark for drying, but I totally forgot why until I read your post. Even though the plants have been cut up, they'll still go through photosynthesis if given enough light which results in the hay smell/taste if I'm not mistaken?

the box would probably work, but you don't need the fan running constantly. i tried that and it dries too fast. i ended up having a 90 cfm booster fan venting the 2x2x2 box for 15 minutes per hour. you might also want to put a bowl of water in the bottom of your box if your tent has low rh. if you can stretch your dry out to 4 or 5 days , thats when you start to get good results

Last two times I dried in my flower tent. Buds came out nice and dry enough for a jar in 3-4 days. I wet trim most and leave the fine details for dry trim.

Buds still got my super stoned. Didn't see a noticeable drop in potency.
