Old fashing seed sowing???

hmm do u think i would be a bad idea too......fill a pot full of medium...water it down....sow the seed lightly coverd under soil then put plastic rap over the top of the pot. and a cfl above the pot? I thikn that idea would sprout a seed what do yall think?

it should work, man. one day i just put some bagseeds in some potting soil and taaaaaaadaaaaaaaaaaa!!! five sprouts

theyre the strongest seeds around man. they do the work, we get the pleasure of watching. thats a good idea but not too long becuz then the soil will stay too wet and might mold.

I plant my seeds directly in soil, keep it moist & uncovered, under minimal to no light. They usually come up within 4 or 5 days. I also don't use a heat source - room stays around mid 70s.

That is what I did. Out of 7 seeds I got one sprout. Took 13 days for a sprout. This was bagseed of course, so ya never know.

Old-fashioned usually ends up well.

nature?...i dont thikn anyone puts them in air tight pots...i was refering to the clear plastic i was gonna put over the pot...thanks tho for the feedback i decided to just do the plate method on top of my computer..ill let ya know

I think you may have missed the sarcasm in the "like nature" post. I think his point was that in nature seeds just fall on the ground w/ no special attention whatsoever & it works so there's no reason your method wounldn't work. I personally prefer to do the germinating in paper towels thing myself w/ seeds.

Just a short story though. When i was about 15 yrs old & living @ my folks I would smoke on the back porch. As I was picking my buds apart from whatever kinda crappy herb i had i would just take the stems & seeds & was throwing them in a long planter box my mom grew flowers in. I didn't expect anything as I wasn't putting them IN the dirt just tossing them on top. I basically thought i was just throwing them away. Well one day I was getting stoned & saw a small seedling & thought haha that kinda looks like a pot plant. Then i studied it a bit more & realized it was a marijuana seedling. To my suprise as i looked around in this little 4' long x 8" deep planter box there were about 50 or so seedlings that had come up on their own w/ no help from me other than just dropping the seeds on top of the soil & sitting out there on the back porch (shaded most of the day even).
