I hope to be able to grow for some Florida patients soon. But even if our Medicinal weed bill passes, not sure it allows for individuals to grow. Either way, I'm going to keep on keeping on.

I'm in NW Florida, and I can say that February is too early. I had a bad case of Spring fever this year, and got started too early. Had early flower problems that stuck with me for a couple of months. Hope to try a spring crop this coming year. Then wait until late spring to do any full seasons. My late stuff all look better than the early stuff at this point.

I'm growing a strain from my BIL. It has been grown here since 1988, and is a late starter. Some of the late transplants are just now starting to flower, so I'm looking at November on them. I also have two strains of Bag Seed Testers that are 3-4 weeks in. They are packing on much more weight than my strain, but have had nothing but problems with them. {bud worms, bud rot and PM} I've used a little of the pollen from the BST2 strain with three of my CP1 girls. I would like a little earlier start time, and a little more weight. Also the BST2 is pretty bushy. My Sidetracked: strain is tall and lanky.

I stay at my tarp and paracord shelter a couple three nights a week. Not to guard my plants, just because I like being outside at night.

I also went to Miami as a kid to visit kin. Haven't been back. Did get down to Tampa a lot when I was younger. Now all my Tampa kin live down the damn road from me. Liked them better when I saw them once a year. They own about 7 acres that they want no one going on, but feel free to go on my 200 acres anytime they like. My wife advises me to pass and repass. I would like to tell them to stay the hell away from my land. But family. . . . .

No on trying autos. I do want to bring in some semiautomatics to get an earlier start time to my strain.

I was on the wagon for 11 years due to my wife's big job in a small town. She is retiring soon, so I slipped off the wagon last summer. I lost 5-10 of my good old strains {and about 20 others I was going to try one day} when a farm freezer died, and I didn't know it until months later. I still have the seeds, but none of them will sprout. My Brother In Law made a cross in 1988 that he still had a few of the F1 seeds from. It was Northern Lights {with a Colombian cross} crossed with a local strain {Mexican X Afghani} called Afghani Skunk. I grew some of them last year. The CP1 was just the tallest plant in the CP {chicken pen} patch last year. If you see any CP1's in my threads, it's plants from last year's seeds. The male Slo1 crossed with the female CP1. And I did get my hands on a few of the F1's this year too. I'm calling them the 88's for now. Of the 88's, I have two females, one male and a hermie. Also had a hermie last year. Don't like that trait. But will breed around it.

I'm just a hobby grower, so no big weights for me. This season is more about finding good males to breed with. I tried the hot germination that Sub Cool talks about on his videos to get more males. It worked for me. Even better than I had hoped. I was up in the 80's for plant count for a while. Deer, dry weather, hurricanes and males have cut that in half you could say. And of those, there are still a few males that will be killed after I collect the pollen. Most of my patches have had very little food and water, so I've been calling them the Darwin Dope patches. A couple of patches are well tended, and the plants look pretty good. If I get a half off my best plants, I will be happy. An ounce off the Darwin Dope would make me just as happy. But it's the seeds that I'm most concerned about.
