I'm in NW Florida, and I can say that February is too early. I had a bad case of Spring fever this year, and got started too early. Had early flower problems that stuck with me for a couple of months. Hope to try a spring crop this coming year. Then wait until late spring to do any full seasons. My late stuff all look better than the early stuff at this point.
I'm growing a strain from my BIL. It has been grown here since 1988, and is a late starter. Some of the late transplants are just now starting to flower, so I'm looking at November on them. I also have two strains of Bag Seed Testers that are 3-4 weeks in. They are packing on much more weight than my strain, but have had nothing but problems with them. {bud worms, bud rot and PM} I've used a little of the pollen from the BST2 strain with three of my CP1 girls. I would like a little earlier start time, and a little more weight. Also the BST2 is pretty bushy. My Sidetracked: strain is tall and lanky.
I stay at my tarp and paracord shelter a couple three nights a week. Not to guard my plants, just because I like being outside at night.
I also went to Miami as a kid to visit kin. Haven't been back. Did get down to Tampa a lot when I was younger. Now all my Tampa kin live down the damn road from me. Liked them better when I saw them once a year. They own about 7 acres that they want no one going on, but feel free to go on my 200 acres anytime they like. My wife advises me to pass and repass. I would like to tell them to stay the hell away from my land. But family. . . . .
