Howdy, I recently found an old dried up Ph/EC/TDS meter (an HI 9811) and some old buffer solutions that was used in a grow years ago. It seems calibration is going to be impossible. I have tested the solution using 2 different drip test and a strip all three say its still at 7.0. My readings at max are 3.6 and my lot is 1.8.
I currently do not have 9v bats and HATE them because they seem to discharge quickly, so i converted it with a 8v 1A (dont have a 9v ac/dc) transformer. I am pretty sure this isnt my issuse and 90% sure its the electrode.
My questions are:
Of course the microsemiens is way off as well 5000 solution reads 3410 and the liquid is no where near 50f so this will be use less for me. I currently just want the meter as a 24/7 Ph meter right now. Also i have some ph down that i can use to lower ph of test water and get multiple set of Ph readings for 8.0, 7.5, 6.5, 6.0, 5.0 (guess ill be doing mental calibration)

My questions are:
- Will 7.0 be pretty decent for growth ( 6.0-6.5 is much better i can do what i mentioned on at the end of post
- If i set it half way to say 3.0 and remember that means 7.0 will it be fine for keeping the water at 7.0?
