I can't believe nobody has said this. In wire and many other things sized in"gauge" when the number goes up, the size goes down. Example... 12ga is bigger than 16ga. And 16 is bigger than 18ga. 12 is a good size for most applications.

lol ... beat me to it by minutes!
The 10-amp breakers have me wondering about the health of the wiring. Even if that's good ... a 20-amp at 115 volts still won't do for a 2500-watt load, even ignoring spikes on switching. cn

Yea, it being a 10a worries me too. It's best to upgrade the breaker box, and pull new wires from new circuits to the grow room. and just leave the rest of the house the same. (ex- 10a breakers to other outlets) Depending on proximity of grow to breaker box, you may could run Conduit and not have to go through the hassle of pulling wires through the walls.

my hubby is an electrician...when he's done playin' black ops i'm gonna have him read this thread...he'll help you out. he ran a "straight run" from an empty spot in our panel box to my closet garden. it has it's own breaker....no worries bout overload.
