OMG I'M AN IDIOT

SO I disassembled a current setup to put in a new light (Chinese square box Amazon lights upgraded to Samsung strips) and set it to 18/6 for the last few weeks of veg in a grow area that's been in constant use for years where it will be checked intermittently at random times, everything is on auto. Two weeks later I see some big hairs developing on my ladies and reason I must have stressed them from defoliation or there was a light failure so I just go with it and switch to 12/12. I'm then away for 2 weeks, come back and nothing has changed, the soil is still damp, ladies are almost exactly the same but slightly paler. The Residual Current Device (RCD) has also tripped and I figure my timer or leads are corrupted somewhere and after testing the light I replace my timer,RCD, and leads. Return a week later and RCD has tripped and ladies don't look the best. Pull everything apart and test again. Wait til daylight cycle and nothing happens, lights stay off. Pull everything apart and test again. Everything good -until it dawned on me I was putting the timer before the RCD so every time the timer went off it triggered the RCD. DOH! Had to lol at myself for being such a cabbage.

At least I know now. :wall:
