One plant distraction 2x2x4

I have dabbled a good amount as home grow goes over the years mostly off of here but I enjoy the forums and have been in need of a hobby to distract me a bit. So here is the start of my simple 2’x2’x4’H one plant distraction.




set up so far
got a 2’x2’x4’ grow tent
Ac infinity 4” exhaust
4” carbon filter for 4”ducting out and intake
I have some flow fast drying fabric pots from honor I’m going to use. 3/4Gal, and a 2 gal(7.75”H X 9”W)
drainage saucer + catch saucer 1.75”H
HLG 100 v2r spec OR* an hlg 260 - currently the 100 is in the tent.
Bamboo trellis 1 main layer.
Air filter with magnets for when I open that flap as I have animals in the house.

space height breakdown.
Saucer - 1.75”
2 gal flow pot + 7.75”= 9.5”H
9.5” base medium level
VEG first trellis 5.5”= 15”H
Veg Second trellis + 6” = 21”H
bloom third trellis +6” = 27”h
Final stretch +6” = 33”H
Light to canopy distance + 12” = 45”H
Remaining +3” for airflow. = 48” ceiling

Medium- thinking kings mix royal gold coco
+ 2 gal Flow honor fabric pot.
nutrients - debating between jacks 321, heavy 16, or Gaia greenamending of medium or something else.

- hand watering vs a mini drip system

Hand water:twice a day 12 ounces : 1 gal rez

Mini drip; 2 gal res with a pump and a .5gph emitter + netafim Netbow 5”. twice a day at 12ozs on a timer once in 2 ga pot and fully saturated replenishing 10% variation of coco moisture

I have a small 50gph mini pump I want to try and set up on one* emitter direct to the pump fittings. the pump fittings are small, an emitter almost fits to the pump fittings, probably a little sanding and some Teflon plumbers tape and I’ll see it it’s strong enough to run a .5gph Netafim emitter into the 5/8mm flex line roughly 8”H out of my 1 or 2 gal bucket, and + 10” long from the outside of the bucket into the tent. I have other sized pumps I just wanted to see if it’s possible to run one mini pump to a proper emitter.
If I can’t get it to work I’ll just slap in one of my larger pumps and plump it normal or stick to hand watering.

genetics I have a few options:
pop seeds - plenty options
Take a clone of - ice cream cake, jelly rancher, vanilla frosting, Tropicana cookies, gelato, thin mint cookies, apple fritter, or London bridge.
Archive clones from a local dispo- grape pie, apple fritter, double dosidos, sherbadough, gelato dosi, or runtz

Things I plan on grabbing in the near future:

6 way 1”pvc trellis fixture qty 3 sets

Bucket company 15” Ez pz run off tray qty 1

Midea cubed 20pint dehu for the room. humidity is pretty low here avg 30-40 RH indoors.

mini 4” fan probably grab 2 for the floor circulation

New digital timer for drip system & floor fans.

Plant placement holder if ya will. This one’s a lot taller then I would ideally train them to height wise but this is for the visual people if ya will.

Gonna grab 2 small fans for ground circulation and a 3rd for over the heat sink up high.
Some jacks a and b and some Epsom
A 2 gal bucket to try out my mini drip idea for fun.
a bag of royal gold kings mix and I’m thinking an archive clone that can give me a jump on things.

Testing this one pump emitter idea out today a little to see how reliable it could be.

Got it pretty consistent. Pardon the macgyver rig set up for testing at the desired height of my future 2 gal pots.

Thinking about running to dispensary to grab an archive clone and get this moving as I think I’m good to go. Just missing jacks part A.

30 min run time 16 ounces every time.
waiting on my 5” Netbow to see if I need a larger pump to run those or not. Once I get that and it checks out I’ll Teflon the emitter to pump instead of the temporary way I have it for testing purposes.

for now works perfect for a one plant set up it is exactly what I wanted. Enough that I can set it and forget it for 10 days before refilling the reservoir.


Also have these 4” mini carbon filters on my exhaust and intake and added a small 4” fan blowing on the led driver.

Grabbed my archive sherbadough clone.
Dunked in plant therapy.
Transplanted into kings mix + myco
Watered in.
Topped & trellis dropped to 15” H.

Swapped out the HLG 100 for a 260, turned to about 130w or so.
gonna grab a timer for the drip system and get that dialed in.

Waiting on my jacks to come in the mail unfortunately.
Ran to the store to grab some things and I wound getting some samples to try that fit most of my needs.
Went for tribus but got a mammoth instead (all they had in stock and was a sample)
went for recharge, got a sample of versity from xtreme garden.
went for power si,got a sample of mammoth si.
also got some liquid azos as well but have not used.

will follow up with some pictures shortly

Tied down a little on the bamboo trellis and 2 5oz drips today and it’s still recovering From everything. Trying to keep it moving until I get my jacks in the next few days. Took two clones of the sherbadough dipped in clonex and threw em in coco solos with drainage and make shift humidity domes see what comes of it for fun.

Had to throw the mini humidifier to keep the RH where I want it. Still bouncing back from the transplant. You can see the 260 I crammed in there turned all the way down currently, got the driver outside of the tent for best purposes.


i also grabbed a few of these wonderful timers to automate my drip timer, circulating pump, circulating fans, and humidifier. I gotta run to the store to get one more thing and I am all pau.

i threw a normal pump into my 2 gal res, so I can fix up some poly tubing going up and out just barely into the tent, I’ll follow up soon with an update.

I got really sick of the power cable craziness when I was grabbing my last couple timers and decided to make it a little simpler on myself.

The light is on a separate mechanical timer
And the exhaust is always on.
Everything else is on a timer.
Will swap the humidifier out for a dehumidifier when needed.

Got my drip finalized.

left side has a 5”Netbow + on/off valve
Right side has a steak drip emitter at slightly slower output on a valve as well.

Been playing with a few different drip set ups as space is limited. I think I got it dialed in, also got my jacks a and b today so got a half strength feed in.

Little veg update. Been struggling post transplant but starting to bounce back.

Roots starting to air prune themselves in the honor flow bag, I was curious to see how much oxygen they let in and well this kinda proves it given how poorly my plant is doing post transplant. Also I put the clones in there to see how they do under a stronger light and no domes. Been doing 8 oz of jacks now at 80% strength every other day after lights on. Gonna continue every other day until the dry backs pick up a little.

Snagged some cuttings off my jelly rancher and vanilla frosting outdoor the other day and threw em in some rockwool, I’ll see what happens.

Been watering every other day now @ 7.5oz, with 1.5 oz run off roughly. RO water and jacks at 80% strength (3.0-2.0-1.0). Will bump up to full strength + some other stuff next time I change out the rez. Got roots out the bottom when I was emptying the run off tray.
lowered the trellis back down and topped 2 more sites. I re did my drip lines again, I’m a bit ocd if ya will…..

Just need an air bleed valve and it’s done
swapped out the swivel 1/4” barb for an orbit 2 site manifold as the swivel leaked and it bothered me.
