I have a buddy who has opted to make his first from bubble ponics...now she just topped them or whatever but is worried about space..obviously...how long should she grow in veg mode...she doesn't know the type or strain and she's using 3 inch net pots in a 10 gallon tub with a 1000 watt mh light and she want the biggest outcome possible any suggestions they are also 6 inch plants

Get them to 12inches is average for maturity to flower them.
You will need to change to a hps bulb or a dual spectrum bulb as you will get a lot more bud while flowering with them compared to mh bulbs.

You could fim them if height is your worry. They will fill out a lot more then and slow down on upwards growth
This is what they said.....they are wondering the best way to utilize that space to maximize what they get in return

if your worried about space than flip them to 12/12 now but if they are from seed It's going to be a disaster trying to pull them out this system
It is what it is man...I'm just helping out
So they can't let them grow to 12 inches with that type of setup

Well, one thing, especially if you don't know strain, is that your friend is packing a lot of plants in a small area, and I would not recommend it. She would be better off with only 2 plants per tub, and I would use a 3rd tub for 6 plants ( cut the weakest plants to make room for the good ones) Veg for 4-5 weeks and I also tell your buddy to read up on a SOG method, and use it because that will be the best method for her in this case.. She has the right lighting for veg, but would need to switch to HPS for bloom to get optimum results. Good luck to your friends

I'm not to sure on your space, But I know in DWC, the roots grow massive and they will tangle with each other sometimes they will swallow your airstone up to, the only way that would be good to use if "you're friends" go with an SOG setup which is just single cola plants if you have 6 seedlings or clones that you know are Female you can go straight to 12/12 in this method from seed or clone, or you can veg them out till their a desirable height 6-12 inches and than flip 12/12.
But if they are all from seed that you don't know the sex of, I would tell your friends to either flip to 12/12 now to see what sex, take clones of the females and just restart with female clones in those systems with atleast a 2 week veg for 12 female clones, you will get very decent yielding single cola plants, or you could even scrog in that !
