Opinions on Trimming?

I know this is all personal preference but curious if I should thin these out more. Day 2 of 12/12 (working my way back from a 24 hr schedule gradually). Just hooked up the air cooled 1000w HPS. 2 Bag seed left is soil, right is hydro DWC. Right one I can spot small white pistols :D (soil is right before watering, bit droopy.)

Anyone used a scrog before? Usually I see people trim everything below the scrog once the main tops come through.

I usually cut all my fan leaves off just prior to going into flower.

...just kidding. I trim a) dead leaves b) large fan leaves if they are becoming a hindrance to itself or other plants and there are adequate other large fan leaves that are receiving full light c) the lowest fan leaves once I'm well into flower so it makes it easier to water and get airflow down there

That's a beautiful job there Danno... that's exactly how I like to see my plants too (speaking particularly about the plant on the left in the bin, but the others look great too).

I really need to get some decent genetics, we shall see what this bag seed is capable of soon though.Id be happy with easily half that on my girl.

that is one thick ass stalk on the hydro one m8. nice and strong. one question, i am wanting to do a scrog on my next grow with hydro. how easy is it to get the buckets changed with the net there? it is not a bit more difficult for water changes?

Looking good tho m8. keep it up :) looking forward to seeing this play out :)

Thanks this is my first try at hydro and scrogging, the scrog is a bit of a hassle by myself when I change the water. I usually have a friend help, they hold the scrog I hold bucket lid. Then I just lift straight up, slide out the old soup, slide a empty bucket under and set it on that, flush with just water, meanwhile I clean the other bucket and get a new soup setup letting it set for about 20 min to let everything mix up and stabilize, then just swap the flush bucket again.

Been thinking about using some light rope with pulley and create a bracket so the scrog actually connects to the bucket lid. That way you could hoist up the bucket lid. Make it more manageable for a single person.

sounds like a plan m8. let me know how that works out, ill keep an eye on your progress :)

gonna be planting a few WW, keep one in soil and one in the hydro :) gonna throw in a few bag seed in small pots for the wife to grow for her first :) got about 6 waitin to go.

i have a submurged air pump atm, the water gets warm so gotta switch the ice 3 times a day. Gonna look into gettin a 2 hose external air pump and get another bucket.

have a look at my sig. its my first hydro grow. had some issues with pH but think i got it under control. got about 2.5 weeks left to go i think. have a look :)

thats where I have been lucky. My basement never lets my bucket get above 74 degrees, usually stays between 68-70 on its own. I am looking at doing 4-6 autos in all hydro if I have successful harvest. This is my test run before I use some identified seeds I got from a friend. :)

so Day 72, Last Saturday (9th) was first day of official flower, white hairs popping out in a few places :) bag seed seems female!

My scrog was a bit small, but I am hoping that leaving it will still add support when they branches get nice and heavy. Interesting comparison of bag seed tho. I never gave the soil one the attention it deserved in the beginning, but even with that....hydro really took off. Both plants where started the same day from seed.
