Good morning everyone -
This is my first post in any forum for growing cannabis. I recently retired from the military and wanted to get back into the hobby I loved so much before joining the armed forces. I only grew indoors in the mid 90's - a lot has changed.
I grew up in Southern California and now, I retired up here in the Pacific Northwest - much different conditions growing outdoors.
I started out growing 4 Bruce Banner #3's, bad decision - that's all the clones I had on hand when I started. I was constantly training them, pruning - it didn't matter, they were soon 8' bushes and I could tell they would not make it to harvest, so I pulled them. I know, I could have built a little hoop house, etc. - I was lazy and I wanted the backyard to look nice for the wife.
Ok, enough of that... I was able to pick up 4 Oregon Diesel clones. I hardened them off for two weeks and planted them on the 15th of June, planting earlier could have had them start flowering before you wanted them to. I used 35 gallon containers, 33 gallons of KIS organics soil with char in each container, I watered enough to keep the super soil moist on the top (watered every other day), now that they are in full flower and the weather has been hot, they want water everyday. The weather hasn't been that great up here this summer, more rain than the past couple of summers, but lately... The weather has been blazing hot and the plants seem to love it. I have my plants facing south. They receive sun from 8 am till about 2:15 pm, and then big trees shade the plants from 2:30 till 6 pm, then they get a bit more direct evening sun, when its starts cooling down.
I have been using "Recharge", found out about the stuff on, "Dudes Grow Show", podcast. It's awesome stuff, I use it once a week. I also top dress using QUALITY earthworm castings every other week.
I think these plants will be ready by the 1st or 2nd week of September, they smell like berries and they have some purple, violet colors, awesome looking plant up close.
Please, let me know what you think - I have thick skin, any suggestions are appreciated.
