First, I want to apologize if I'm reposting anything. I gotta run out the door to do some paperwork though, so I figured I'd throw this up in the hopes of getting some useful responses. I'm sure there is another thread very similiar to mine out there, but I don't have much time to search.
So, I currently live in Minnesota. Without going into detail, I'm hoping to find a state to move to that supports medicinal use of marijuana. I have been diagnosed with ADHD, in addition to having undiagnosed stress issues, insomnia, and chronic GI pain. So, I was wondering if you, the friendly community of RIU, could help make a suggestion on what state to move to.
The three things I'm looking for?
1) Ease of access. Which state will allow an out of state resident or nonresident to obtain a MMJ card? Whatever state I move to, I'm looking to make my permanent home. But I'm not looking to go there and wait X amount of years before I'm considered a resident.
2) State view on use. Here in MN, a majority if the people frown upon the use of weed. I'd like to be able to go somewhere where I could take a walk, meet another stoner, and have a long and endearing conversation about the benefits of medicinal use while getting ripped with them.
3) Cost of Living and employment opportunities. Which states have a good ratio of cost of living to employment opportunites?
For those of you super duper ripped, here is the TL;DR version:
I want to find a state to live in where I can find it reasonably easy to get a card within 6 to 12 months of moving there, be able to meet and befriend plenty of like minded people, and I want to be able to do all that while paying relatively low rent and being able to find a job.
It might sound like a dream to some of you, but I'm sure somebody out there had some good suggestions.
Thanks guys!
