OK, so heres the plans for this years outdoor grow in the Southeastern US:
I found an area that is completely hidden from plain view. The side you would walk/drive by (if anyone would even do that) is the side of a hill, and is completely engulfed in a wall of thorn bush. Then there is a layer of tree saplings (pine and something else that has a lot of leaves). And then a layer of shrubbery. The other side is nothing but woods thick with thorns. So this is a hard place to get to, unless you know exactly how to get there (which only I know)
The area is, Im guessing, about 1300-1800 sq ft. More than plenty for my grow. Only problem is, it is completely full of thorns, and I have to clear it all with a machete (planting time is still about 6 weeks away for me though, so I got time)
Once cleared, Phase 2 begins, which means getting supplies (soil, straw, composted manure, etc) up there without making a trail. But the good thing is, even if I happen to make a trail, the ground is covered in 2-3 inches of pine needles, and I can just ruffle it as I go along to cover my tracks.
OK, so lets say I got my supplies up there without a hitch, now time to dig a little bit. I plan on doing raised beds that are 1 ft deep and 1 ft high. The dimensions of the beds will be 4x12x2. There will be 2 rows this size, which is room for 20 plants(thats 96 cubic feet per bed for plants to grow). The lengths of the rows will be displaced a foot, so the plants will grow like this

This will prevent any plant from blocking another plant's light, and will keep down the branch entanglement.
So, lets talk soil. My soil mix will be about:
1/4 Potting soil
1/4 Vermiculite or Perlite
2/4 Composted Manure (Blak Cow)
and I will add other goodies like egg shells (calcium), blood meal (nitrogen), and bone meal (phosphorous). And at the bottom of the beds, before I add soil, I will put fish in, which adds almost all the nutrients you could ask for.
Now I got my soil mixed, and holes dug. Now to make the beds. I will overfill the bed so it has 1 ft of soil over the original ground. Then I will cover these mounds with straw, this will help hold the soil in place and keep it from washing away, and stop stuff from growing in it.
Off to the seeds. Once again Im strapped for cash when it comes to the seeds
so Im using the best bag seeds I could find around here ( including 5 Kush seeds)
I will sprout the seeds using the ol' paper towel method in a dresser drawer or my closet. Then once they root, put them in some 16 oz party cups with holes in the bottom. Grow the seedlings in this until they have 3-5 sets of leaves then transplant them into the bed, burying them up to the 1st node.
As far as nutes go, I shouldn't need any for veg stage, but if I do, I got some 24-10-12. And for budding I got 10-54-10. But another thing for budding Im gonna do I have never done is use molasses. I hope that helps
If the plants get really bushy and start to touch each other I will use wood poles to make a spiral effect with the branches.
Now, unless it rains regularly this year unlike last year, I still need a plan for that, because I cant be hauling 20 gallons of water through 200yds of thorns and woods every week. Anyone got tips for that? I was thinking about converting 5 gallon buckets into raincatchers.
