Outdoor hydro

Ok. First time posting.
Long time coming here.

Outdoor hydro. From clones. Supplemental light until you're ready to bloom. (Clones will flower year round here where I'm at, sd. So I use supplemental lighting post sunset and pre sunrise to bring photoperiod to about 19 5.

Rdwc. Small greenhouse, just big enough for full grow crop of 4.
Grow res is inside GH. Control res (recirculating to grow res) is outside GH. Control res is where I do all the controlling. Oh yeah both are 30gallon trash cans. Oh and also they are both completely burried. Oh and both res are temperature control, 65°f-71°f average.

Anyone else do stuff like this?

Oh and I forgot to mention it's my 2nd outdoor hydro grow. Next one will be even better.

Oh and 4girls one cup.

Oh and yeah go ahead with all your "oh" comments and critics about it. That's what keeps us sharp and on our game.

Ok. So can someone tell me something or advise on this, "adding nutes in concentrated form directly to control res.
It's been working for me but I loose track of what's in the mix.
Is there someway to know how muc of what nute is in a mix!!??

Ok so I'm in the beach right now drinking a stone. I burned a few min ago too.

Any outdoor hydro comments and points of matter are welcome. Related or unrelated to my grow.

That's cool. So how do you keep your roses from overflowing if they're buried? Or is it set up so the height of the trash cans is buried just deep enough to be as high as your container sites? I would love some pics. This sounds neat.

They are hard line pvc plumbed together like many other rdwc systems, it's also buried in the ground.
When the system is empty and not running it looks like two trash can lids on the ground about 7 feet apart everything is underground. That's it. Everything is buried to keep temp under control.
And in the control res I can turn a valve and reroute the water into a small cup to check ph/ppm from the Grow res. So I can make sure the root zone is proper and not just hope that the control res and Grow res are the same, which they are and have been. But best to be able to check without having to lift the plant up and out. It's pretty cool. I have some improvement for next season.

Thanks for your comment.

That's pretty cool. You can never match the power of the sun right? Probably the only RDWC guy that doesnt have to worry about leaks LOL.
What are you using for aeration?
As far as adding concentrated nutes...I mean give it a try. You can just dump you water and re-do it if you dont like the results.
Me personally, I always mixed my GH three part, Calmag strong in a one gallon jug and used that as add back.

Sounds like a cool build! I’ve wanted to do an outdoor hydro set up for years. Get the benefits of hydro and the sun .
