Outdoor Pistils and Flowering Times

Hey all, I just noticed pistils on all four of my backyard plants. I know that outdoor growing is a totally different ballgame, so I was wondering which of the following two is the reason I'm seeing pistils:

• The days are getting shorter and so flowering is initiating. I find this tough to believe because the longest day of the year was June 20th, not really that long ago.
• Or....the seed was germinated in late-April, and because the plants are over 10 weeks old, they're flowering because they're maturing, and not because of reduced sunlight.

So if I'm seeing pistils now, does that mean my plants are 8-10 weeks away from harvest, or are the rules different outside? I can't imagine they'll all be done from early to mid September, but I guess that's why I joined the RIU community to learn from.

I've attached pics of three of them (Strawberry Amnesia, Blueberry Cookies and Black DOG), but the pistils are so small on my Humboldt Dream that it was hard to get a pic. Thanks in advance.

They usually start when the plant matures (alternating growth pattern). Nice grow you got this summer Gio.

This is perfectly normal preflower,right on time. They look just like mine. I usually start counting weeks after you start seeing small clusters. Im at 40 n latitude and its always within the first two weeks of August.

I’m in the Bay Area I have plants stretching and one already flowering looking for a early September harvest

I want know this its very good i think.

Those GA babies look awesome. Tampa Fl, grown on the pool deck. No idea what strain as seeds were freebies.

I think it's a lemon cake or wedding cake bagseed one seed in a qtr pack looking like a September harvest it's my first grow to make it to flowering cause of thieves

I'm in south western BC plants don't really start flowering here until second - third week in Aug. usually finish by October 1-20th depending on strain

From my exp the plants start to grow pistols once they outgrow the plant that they came from in size ie seed or clone
