Outdoor Sexing

Hey I am about to start my first grow outdoors and I just want to know around what time will the plants start showing their sex? Thanks in advance!

Ok thanks. I haven't planted them yet but you think that it'll be in the beginning stages of the flowering stage by the beginning of August? And another question, what size of pots should I use if I plan on putting the pots in the ground? Or could I just dig holes and fill it up with the special soil I bought? Sorry... again this is my first grow. (Ive researched for about 6 months tho)

Look at your local sunrise/sunset calendar. When the plants get 13 hours of dark, they will start to flower. You should be able to tell sex after 5-6 weeks of veg from the preflowers.

Ok thank you! And once the beginning phases of the flowering stage starts, how long do I have to pull the males before they fuck up the crop?

Pull them as soon as you are certain they are males. Look up "sexing" or "preflowers" on the search engine and you should find plenty of pictures of males and females from preflower to early flower.

I know what the differences are between the males and females, the problem is that I can only check my babies every 2 weeks. Is that enough time for a male plant to begin showing signs, developing, and dropping the pollen?

Also, I kind of made an accident when I started my seeds. I used the paper towel method but the wet paper towels got reallllly hot. I would say probably close to 100 degrees... my seeds still cracked and the baby roots still came out of all of them, but will they be permanently damaged? Or will they be ok? I just put them in the peat pellets last night and I'm nervous they wont take hold.

If the sprouted seeds look good, they are good.

I STRONGLY suggest you pay a visit to your garden every week starting August 1st, until you sexed all your plants.

Early in flowering a male can take a couple weeks to open a flower, after they are identifiably male.

A late showing male can do the same in as little as three days.

The last time I used unsexed plants, one very large Romulan/Northern Lights #5 cross proved to be male. It filled a large (90 gallon) garbage container.

That won't ever happen again.

Well I guess I'll be having a lot of plants then lol. I just started 7 more because I thought the other 8 were fucked. I guess Ill just pick the best 10 outta the group... Or i could just do all 15 :D

Ok well idk how ill be able to check every weekend but Ill do my best!

So you don't think the high temps cooked the seeds? How long does it usually take for the seeds to poke through the surface of peat pellots?
