Outdoor Sexing?

Ok, so i have a question as to when i will be able to start figuring out the sex of my plants outdoors (they are a little over a month old now). I am in new england and my main question is, since the days wont start getting shorter until july, am i going to have to wait this long until my females start showing preflowers, or at like 6 weeks will they show preflowers, but then begin to bud during july? Also what are some differences in MJ plants before they start to flower, ive heard that males tend to grow faster and be bigger in the beginning? is this true? and is there any other possible indicators.

I'm not so sure about males growing faster.... out of 5 NYPD's from reg seed, first one sexed under 12/12 and it was a female and she was the tallest. You can take cuttings from the plants and number the plants and sex inside under 12/12 and find out which are males. This saves you from having to use resources like soil, water and ferts on adult males. Sex them earlier and you'll be better off.... if you can't, you'll have to wait until your sun is up less and less....

Im in PA and every year my canna shows sex by mid to late June. This wont happen untill the veg cycle (when you start to get alternating nodes ) so if you start them early, you may get earlier results. I start mine religeously on April 20th every year. The days start to get shorter on June 22, the day after the equinox and they will most undoubtedly be showing by then.

If you use Uncle Bens technique( I am gonna plug this a smuch as possible becasue of the sheer brilliance of it) You can take the top you've removed and go 12/12 to sex. This is tougher for outdoors growers but not impossible as I have sucsesfully taken viable cuttings as far as 3 miles on foot from my house.

After the sixth set of true leaves take a good pic of the nodes and I will tell you if it is a male or female. If it is a female by then you will see a primordia and a pistil or it is a male. Keepem green dirrtyd

you can just go on the nodes that's bullshit, i have had plant's outside be 8 feet tall before they sexed way beyond six set of true leaves

late june for your area they will sex

I believe a black, cotton sock placed over the end of one branch 12 hrs per day should do the early sexing. I haven't tried it yet, but...... Dumb-ass Me, I cloned a 5 ft. Plant, it maled out 2 weeks later.
