Outdoor vs. Indoor

To keep a plant in vegetative growth longer than the season permits, can I leave the plant outdoors in the sun while I am at work and then move it indoors to a grow room for an additional 4-6 hours of light before moving it back outside for the night? For example, 10:00PM - 6:00PM Outdoors, 6:00PM - 10:00PM Indoors under light. Or would it be better to grow the plant entirely indoors. Basically what I'm asking is any harm done to a plant if it receives both natural and artificial light every day?

welcome to the site...the light would not be as much of an issue as bugs ,mites etc picked up form outside and carried inside .....that is the main reason peep keep their indoors indoors... :^)

I have done this for a few weeks now because the new stealth box I built has a problem getting rid of heat. I've been taking them outside for the day while I'm at the office and bringing them in at night under the lights.

Two issues. gnats, gnats, and more gnats
Also, one day while I was home sick and sitting on my patio, burning one, apparently a underground pipe burst in the nextdoor neighbor's yard. There was a repair crew there for the afternoon. My point? If you live in a neighborhood you never know who may be in your backyard while you are away.
