OUTDOOR watering system for plants????

how can i set up an outdoor watering system for my plants that are right next to a creek?? i was thinking of a pump and a dripcord but i dont know......any ideas??

I am interested as well.. the first thing that came into my head was like you said, a pump and a cord maybe somehow rig a timer from your house or something.

I presume the soil will always stay moist right next to a creek?

or spray paint your name all over the ground to tell everyone whos plants they are.... they need water

LOL Unless your plants and creek are right near your house and on your property dont run a fuckin cord from ur plants to your house!!!!!!!!!!!!! Um well........ I have planted near a creek and I just kept a bucket near the creek and do it the old fashioned way. But maby google solar powered fountain pumps for outdoor fish ponds......... thats all I got..........

Afterthought: Make sure your creek water isnt sewage!!!!!!!!!!!! hahaha My creek was runoff from Sod(grass) fields irrigation ditches

haha its pure water. its about 20 minutes from my house so no cord. i did find this. i think im gonna buy it.

what you do is make sure that the water is always flowing down hill, go up stream of where your plants will be and lay a piece of drip line down in the creek, then build a small dam, i use trash bags filled with dirt so you make a pool with the drip line at the bottom, as long as your ending point is lower than the starting pont you will have running water at your patch, you can run the line up a hill or anything like that, what i have done is put drippers on the end and then just lay it a few feet from the plant and let it run constantly, or you can buy a battery powered water timer, they use standard 3/4 inch garden hose fittings, its just a little box that you put in line with your water supply and they work good, personally i only use those if im using containers to grow in because of poor soil or something, i have used this system for watering many times and its the best way for an outdoor patch, one time i ran over half a mile of 1/2 inch drip line to a patch from a spring, it went from the spring down a steep hill then up and over into the next canyon

I was assuming it was near his home? Sorry. Am I the only person who has access to indoor and outdoor growing and would prefer outdoors?

no man your not. i am growing 6 plants indoors right no but i am gonna take 4 outside. thank you "Fat Sam" for the info. will look into it.

i was thinking of building a dam and then attaching a big funnel to a timer that is connected to a drip cord. then all of the water would be forced into the funnel and it would be strong enough pressure for it to flow on its own. =)

don't quite no what you are looking for but here's what i came up with. 33 gal trash cans. 1 bloom and 1 veg. with a 110 pump. i am looking to buy a digital timer so it will come on. i am going to split the hose 6 times to each plant. but for now i just turn on the pump and water each plant.

this is in my backyard. they do make them pumps 12 volts if you have nopower supply.

Here is my redeeming 2 cents.

The number one way someone is caught is by leaving equipment near their growing area, such as bags, buckets, shiny shit. The reason being is, when in a helicopter, these things stick out very very clearly to even the naked eye when compared to surrounding foliage. So.. if one were to setup a resovoir outside, make sure to bring some green camo (spray paint, maybe some dirt of leaves, be creative), as to not get caught.
