outdoor yields

Um...you don't know how to grow, where to grow, or what to grow, and you want to know how many to grow to get 6 pounds?

the answer to your last question is six plants and anyone that says other is messing with you.

I get one pound plants outdoors on the regular and I barely do anything with them. Plant in about 30 gallons of compost (in a hole not a flowdr pot) and heavy trimming/topping while in veg. Maybe water if I really have to. Im sure more experienced growers can achieve 6 pounds with a couple plants while a novice may need to plant 100 plants to achieve that amount. Guess what im saying is the question has many different determining factors.

First and foremost.... buy some good seeds. Look for some heavy yielding outdoor strains that are easy to grow. I suggest you grow at least 6 plants.

Find a good growing location. A good growing location must have decent soil. (avoid soil with too much clay) Check the PH level of the soil if you are planning to grow the plants directly in the ground. If soil is above 7, or below 6, you will have to correct the ph. Ideally, you want to aim for a ph level of 6.5. Once you know the soil is good to grow in, you should mix some organic matter into the soil. (Such as worm castings, compost, etc.)

Another option is to dig a huge hole in the ground, and fill it with some good potting soil. This would probably be the easiest way to go for your first grow. 5 feet in diameter, and about 3-4 feet deep. Give all your plants around 6-7 square feet of spacing. Growing them to close together can cause problems.

Also, its extremely important that your grow location gets plenty of sunlight. The more sunlight, the better.

*take precaution when choosing your grow site. Animals such as deer can fuck everything up in one night.*

Here is some basic info... good luck. Don't set your expectations to high. Everyone's first grow was far from perfect...

I averaged 13oz per plant outdoors and that was with a short veg time and less than 8hrs of direct sunlight. I tried to keep my plants somewhat small. Like already stated- way too many variables to make an accurate prediction. GL.

Great thread to show just what can be done outdoors, lots of outstanding results

Remember that these awesome growers such as "Garden Boss" have been growing outdoors for decades, they learnt a thing or two
No offence but you ain't going to match their yields, so if you need 6 LBS, you better grow 24 plants as even getting 4 ounces per plant is not easy as it looks.

I know how to grow, but I havent ever done it before, so I was hoping for some advice from experienced growers.
If youve never grown before, then you don't know how to grow. Plain and simple.

Growers who grow with that mentality suck anyway so doing so wont make you much money. Assuming thats what you want to do based on your question. Good luck
