outlets

i only have one outlet next to my grow room and i was wondering if i get one of thoes 6 outlet things that turns one outlet in to 6 can i run 2 hps 1000w lights and a fan or two off that one outlet.

I highly doubt it....Your outlet is rated for 15 amps, and I'm pretty sure you will be way over that. Check the stuff and find out how much amps they draw. If there is no amp rating then divide the watts by the voltage(120). You should rep me for keeping your house from burning down!

edit: I misread...two 1000 watt lights and fans and stuff equals fire at worst tripped breaker at best

It would serve everyone well to check all extension cords. touch them near the outlet to see if they are getting warm or hot. Home Depot sells some large guage extension cords ... those are the ones you want to use. The orange one with the triple inputs is nice.

should i only use one 1000w per outlet

Got an extentsion cord lying around...I just ran one to another outlet
in the other room. I wouldn't risk all those watts in one outlet.
