I hope I gave enough info. Steve. Hi all, I think I know what I did wrong, I just don’t know how to fix it. Hope someone can help.
Using Hydro bubble system to start. Move to flood/drain when transfer to 6” pots. 6’ by 8’ bathroom, 4)40w, daylight floro’s.
12/1/09, took 8 cuttings from a Soma Lavender Mother.
12/9/09 Roots start poking through grow plugs. I then put them into 3” pots with rock. My thought is to do a manual flood/drain until the roots start poking through the pots, then move them into the Bubble system with a General Hydroponic solution of 1/2t 1-1-1. (Question—can I put the just rooted grow plug in the 3”pot straight into the bubbler? Or will this drown the roots if the bubbles don’t get to them).
12/14/09 Now all the pot are in the bubbler, (only 3 have roots coming through the pots) they are still in the G.H. 1/2t 1-1-1 solution (not sure of TDS, I think around 350?) pH=6, temp 65-75, water temp 73, and seem to be doing fine. NOTE: Humidity is low, 15 to 25, Is this a problem?
12/19/09 Problem starts. Went to 3-2-1 solution TDS=840. Two days later, signs of over fertilizing. (leaves curling down, rust spots, dark vanes, yellowing leaves, brittle. The root that were coming through were brownish. Brain Fart, My bad, I didn’t do anything about it till 12/23.
12/23/09 removed plants from bubbler, went back to manual flood 3 times a day in 2-2-1 solution of TDS 250.
12/25/09 Here’s where I stand now. 2-plants look pretty good, 4-plants look ok, 2-plants are code red.
No roots are showing through the pots.
WHAT CAN/SHOULD I DO?
Continue with manual F/D? (I dip them in solution for 10 seconds 3-4 times a day in a 2-2-1 TDS-250 mix).
Pull the plugs out of the pots and treat them like clones? (Dome/no dome?)(mist/no mist?)(heatpad/no heatpad?)
Buy a humidifier for the small room to get the humidity up to proper %?
Did I transfer to the bubbler too soon? Should I forget the bubbler and go straight to Flood/Drain as soon as roots poke through the 3” pots? (roots poke through 3” pot, transfer to 6” pot, then to F/D)?
