Overclocking a de cmh bulb to 1150?

There have been numerous Professional articles that I have read where over clocking your lights can reduce the efficiency of the spectrums and will actually be counterproductive to your grow. I'm confident a short time surfing Google you should be able to find numerous reports backing this up.

Fair enough my research is amateur at best anyways, lol.
I am not saying it's good for either, I do like to run my HPS on overdrive at times. The HPS will handle it a lot better than the CMH. Honestly I would be surprised if the CMH lamp would last a week at 1150.

I actually have some DE 1kW CMH bulbs here that are designed to run on a HPS high frequency ballast. I don't use them so perhaps after I finish this run I will put a bulb in and fire it up at 1150 to see what happens.

I would really like to know how that turns out

What CMH bulbs do you have that are made for high frequency ballasts? The whole reason I bought my revolution deva was to run cmh that require low frequency square wave. Yes I have heard it's worse on the cmh than the hps. The rep for cultilux told me he would replace it if I ran it at 1150 because he wasnt aware of anyone including there engineers that ran it at 1150

Let us know how that plays out, we are all curious.

They are prototypes from @GoBrah in China. I have some that are designed to be "high UV" (no UV block in the glass), they fry plants. I could use one of those because they aren't useful for growing lol.

There’s some Vivosun de bulbs has any one ever tried it ?

Vivosun is cheap but I’ve gotten good quality from some stuff .. I don’t skimp on areas that can be a hazard (ballast ,fan,) I originally was gonna get a flex 600/750 gavita but it’s 100 bucks .. I can get 4 Vivosun de and dim em idc how long it lasts at that price but quality spectrum might suck

So anyways jdog hows it feel being a leg? I'm an 82nd airborne veteran myself.
My dad was an all-American. Great men for sure!
And thank you for being a part of the 1%. My hat's off and I salute you sir.
I was a mechanized grunt saddled up with strikers. Took a direct IED blast in January 08' to our vehicle just northwest of Baghdad right outside camp taji Iraq, Killed my team leader who was right next to me, He took the worst of it.

R.I.P brother. Still think about him everyday. And as you can see by my wrist he goes with me everywhere.
I was not able to walk for 2 years after that with surgeries and rehabilitation. But after all said and done, I truly miss it. I would do it all over again in a heart beat.

Edit: And I just noticed your location on your profile says you are from Ohio. My team leader was also from Ohio. Wapakoneta, To be exact.

Wow damn jdog that's fucking tragic. I feel you though on doing it all over again. I did 2 tours to Afghanistan and 1 in Iraq as an airborne infantryman. Fob falcon in Baghdad right by the traffic circle where Blackwater's cronies killed a shit ton of civilians.

Anyone have any idea what would happen if I ran my cultilux de cmh 1000watt at 1150watts?
overpower input will shorten the life, and has higher chance to cause arctube explosion but it is not 100% some bulbs will running for a while even at 1150 setting. Dont put safety on risk so no one recommend to do so.

I run em at 75% haven’t run a full cycle though like that. Mainly used to finish and veg the next run

Is there any degradation of the spectrum when dimmed or over driven?
