Overwatered in DWC? Can't figure it out

Dear Farmers,

I've got White Widow in a 5 Galllon DWC.

She was perky yesterday- so i thought to add a little more water with some h202- to liven up her gloomy roots. An hour later- walla from praying to the lightt God she started to droop and now looks really sad.

I removed some water - now the water level is not touching or any where close to the bet pot. I want her to be happy again.

Heres what she looks like.

Can some one kindly quide me on this one:) big thanks in advance :)

If you have an airstone in the res it's impossible to overwater in DWC, the roots are immersed in water. What is the water temp? Looks like you have some type of deficiency based on the leaves in the last picture. What nutes, pH, environment, etc., etc.?

Pictures of the roots maybe? Probably something wrong with them. If your water is too warm, you'll get root rot at some point.

Hi MikFoster,

Thank you for your speedy response. I've got two air hoses in the water. No airstone.

PPM 650
AN Jungle Juice + Sensi cal mag
Temps are a bit high around 80.
Maintaining the DWC with h202 which controls slime and alge
PH 5.7- 5.8

Air temps are 84F RH 80 tropical climate. Plenty of airflow..

My other plants are doing fine..

Hi Psyphish,

Thank you for you prompt response.
The roots were looking a bit unhealthy so I dosed the water with diluted H202 50%

Here are some pics

80 degrees is too warm - needs to be in the low 70's. I would suggest a chiller. I also would add airstones to the air hoses - makes smaller bubbles. I know why you added H2O2 but that's not the way to control nasties - cooler water is. You can also put frozen water bottles in the res to lower the temp.

Am going to throw some bottles I've got freezing and see if she perks up. Thanks for reminder :) Will do!

Cheers!

Frozen bottles are just a temporary fix though, IMO it gets pretty exhausting to constantly replace the bottles. Hydroponics is difficult if you can't get to water temperature low enough, that's why I changed to coco coir, no root rot but faster than soil.

Yeah, am gonna try and master the DWC challenge. For this grow.. Contemplating next grow - coco..

My final thought.. Am going to leave her alone.. And give her the best enviornmental condition.. Not fidget. And allow her to recover :leaf:
