I got a small pack of 3 OG Diesel Kush autoflowers and they sent 3 free. So far, I have one dud. Just stopped right before releasing the cotyledons. Anyone use them? Did I make a mistake? Granted it's the first seed from the pack, but it was the fattest and darkest. Should I order from somewhere else?

Duds do happen, personally, I've had a bitch of a time with germination. I get them to pop and when I transfer them to coir they die. I had a "Magnum" from marijuana-seeds.nl that was breaking the surface then just stopped and two days later it was molding.Out of 16 only one has survived. She is almost done so I need to get cracking on another round. Ive only got one auto left though. Plenty of bag seed and even a few in my own that should be feminized. I'll keep trying and would recommend the same. I'm sure that Pacific's customer service will say something similar to what I was told from ms.nl. "we've not been informed of any germination problems and were sorry to hear about your difficulties." I got offered repalcement seeds...if I place another order. But I'd still give them a call/ message if you continue to have issues.

Okay. I did pop a few more into 3 gallon pots. Currently have 3 of the OG's waiting to sprout. I do have another question - would ambient air temperatures being ~75F be enough for the soil to stay warm? I do not have seedling heat mats under the pots, as I'm starting them in the pots they will finish in. I'm trying to keep everything as kosher as possible for them, but for some reason on top of my fridge in the garage (early summer) had better germination rates than in my tent. I'm wondering if that's part of it? I have a mat being shipped to me, so I will be able to test it. But if I do get more duds, I guess I will contact them in some way. Thanks.

75 ain't bad but the pots maybe a little cooler. Cooler temperatures will definitely slow down germination but in nature plants would typically germinate while still in the 50s or 60s.

Just give them time if you already put in soil.

There is so much bad germination info out there I like to point people to Mandala's germination guide, all the right info in one place: https://www.mandalaseeds.com/Guides/Germination-Guide. 75 deg is probably fine, but double check your nighttime temps. You can germ under lights for warmth too, if you need some heat and don't have a mat. Be very careful not to overwater in those big pots-controlling moisture is the reason we start with small containers and pot up.

I definitely have a heavier hand when it comes to watering. I'll have to keep that in check. Thanks for the guide.

After reading the guide I lowered my RH. I kept it at a steady 65 but am dropping it to 50-55. also had my light on at a 18/6 schedule and now it's just going to be on all the time until they sprout. I'll give em a week and we will see.

I ordered 3 white widow autoflower from them didn't receive any freebies... none of them germinate one was actually cracked upon closer inspection. I just cut my losses and didnt try to get anything else from them. Now i use clones. But hopefully your other 2 will turn out to better. Goodluck

2 more duds... I'm honestly pretty upset. I have two more that I have started taps and are in soil now. I have them in a pre amended coco/perlite/peat mix using dr earth nutes.. 2tbsp per gallon of medium, not overfilled tbsp either to make sure as to not overdo the nutrients. Don't autos want nutes sooner than photoperiods? Or at least on their schedule instead of ours. I can germinate seeds in solo cups no problem, but 3 gallon pots are different apparently.

I've got a couple Kush XL & Dragon's Breath autoflowers from Pacific seedback, here's a pic from today after a heavy pruning and defoliation they're in coco, in a 40x40 under a ES180 & Solar Extreme 250 fertigated twice daily with Floranova Bloom and are doing well, they were some hardy seeds and I didn't have any issue sprouting them-paper towel directly into the 5 gal fabric pots they're in now. I paid by mailing in a money order all told I think it was aprox a 3 week turnaround from ordering to receipt of the seeds.

I have two good ones currently. Here's a link to my current "journal" I guess you could call it. I'm due for an update, the girls have grown a little bit since the last update.

This place comes up time and time again... stolen strain names, duds and herms, you don’t really know what you’re getting. Nothing but a pretty website.

If you’re going to take at least 12-14 weeks of your life growing something why not spend the extra money and get something you know is legit and quality. Also from people who don’t steal names.

I am finding this out as well! One of the two supposed autoflowers, is in fact, a photoperiod! I have no idea what strain it may be either. It's been a mutant it's whole life, sprouting 3 leaf fan leaves everywhere. I'm not complaining IG because it's a pretty decent looking plant, but jeez I at least expected what I paid for.

Update - I contacted them and explained the photoperiod and duds situation. They are willing to send me a one time reimbursement of seeds. Lol. I guess they get another chance to prove this thread wrong. My hopes aren't very high, pun intended :blsmoke:

Try just planting the seeds in the medium I was going through the same thing and ran through like 10 seeds

Might be the sound thing to do.. I'll try one with their method and if it doesn't work out I'll do the rest in the medium. I just successfully germinated 3/3 random bagseed so I know I'm doing it right.

I had bad germination this year, too. I thought it was me even though I didn't do anything different.
I had just made a cross and got some s1’s and had every last seed fail to germinate or stay alive after it barley cracks the surface. I think it was the cold weather now and a combination of the seed actually getting buried deeper than I put it after the 1st initial watering probably more likely in coco because I didn’t experience any of this with dirt

I've combined my coco with Dr. Earth organic pot of gold soil 50/50 and I have found the seeds don't move around as much. You get the fluffiness of the coco with all the benefits of the good stuff in the soil, plus the organic dry nutrient line from Dr. earth loves the soil and microbes. I think I'll be doing it this way from now on, especially because the seedlings that I have now developing are a really nice rich dark green color. Not unhealthy dark, but just the opposite. I"ve just smoked 3 gravity bongs so I hope this makes sense haha :bigjoint:
