i was just reading random forums and it said it makes the plant flower faster? correct me if im wrongI've been wondering what exactly is C02 used for anyway? Hydro only thing I'm assuming
but will my paintball co2 tank be good enough if i just spray the plant with it every once and a whileCO2 is required for photosynthesis to take place..
adding CO2 allows the plant to perform photosynthesis to its potential.
Light is another requirement for photosynthesis
if you dont have sufficient lighting for the extra CO2 to be needed, it wont make a difference
so pretty much its impossible to use my paintball tanks guess i'll save up for a big oneCo2 if used properly can increase yields up to 80% and speed up the grow by up to 30 %.You have to maintain a correct co2 ppm in the grow area which is 1200-1500 ppm at all times. Then you need temps to be 80-85 when using it and alternate fresh air exchanges against your co2 injections or fills.I use both co2 tanks on timed injections and actual co2 generators which are hooked to propane tanks and a timer. I use 20 lb welder/scuba diver tanks for the injection and then 40 lb propane tanks for the generator. I have my co2 tanks set on solenoids and timers. You only use it when lights are on so I inject for 8 minutes every 2 hours in an 8x8 room then I have auto close dampers on my intake and exhaust so the room is sealed with co2. The fans exchange the rooms air every 4 th hour 10 minutes before a fresh co2 fill in the room. A 20 lb co2 tank will last about 30 days in a room this size. The generator will last a whole grow with a 40 lb propane tank as it fires up on timer and burns the propane the by product is co2.you have to monitor your co2 and make sure your at 1200-1500 ppm in the air or its a waste. The little paintball containers would last about 2 days at the most ina small grow cabinet or about 1 day of 12/12 in a 8x8 room. You can check co2 air ppm with ppm syringes which are aboyt $28 each then a refill tester tube is $9 each which can be used once or you can buy a co2 monitor and controller which monitors the co2 levels and kicks the co2 on if it drops below the set ppm these cost about $300-1000 depending on new or used
