Ok now Yall i might need some help... Question 1. How to seal off the extra holes??? Should i caulk then Use some air ducting tape or that foil tape??? Also to fill in the hole where the power supply how should i try this. Where exactly should i be mounting the fans there is one i can put in the front that was already there but thats it... THere is also one in the door pannel.

hey shift no need to go through the caulking nightmare this case doesnt have to hold water lol. you you just simply line it with cardboard and cut whatevere holes you need in it, its the easiest way i think. the carboard plus the reflective material liner you should be pretty light tight. you would also like your fans one being the intake at the height at which lines up with the top of your pot that you have your plant in so you can get a breeze running across those stems to strengthen them for some fatty bud support and especially a breeze under that canopy when your do your scrog to avoid mold issues. also the exhaust near the top somewhere probly about 3/4 to 5/8 the hieght of your case cuz that where your lights will spend most of their time eventually.

Off to a good start. I was looking around at work and being in the IT dept. I was thinking about one of our old server cases they are a little bigger. Do you think bigger is better or will I need more light than I could keep cool in that area?

a server case would work great because you wouldnt really have to worry about height depending on strain you choose, and if you LST or SCROG. i would have used a server case if i had the space but yah a server case would work great even with a 4 bulb setup like mine. as for heat issues it all really depends where you live because the temperature fluxuate so much here in canada but if your in california where its about 80-90 always you may need more fans i dont know a ideal setup; there abit of trial and error to be done.

Not Cali. Stuck in Ohio. We might hit the 90's for a few weeks in the middle of the summer but thats about it. I was thinking LST, what i've on it in small spaces looks real cool.
Thanks for the feed back.

dont line the box with cardboard as it will cause exessive temperatures and dont seal it all with tape either(you want some venting/cooling qualitys).
if you want reflective properties i would just paint the inner walls of the case with flat white paint rather than line it with anything to keep the temps down in such a small place.
when its time for darkness just throw a towel/curtain over the case to stop any light leakage and you will still have venting during the dark period.

cardboard in the front and back is not going to cause your temps. to sky rocket like ludacris is making it sound. you want to know whats in mine the back i cut a retangular piece of 5/8 plywood and screwed it to the back the front i sealed with cardboard except the front has a hole for the fan and on top of that i have reflective material in there now is your worried that much about heat seal front and back with cardboard but use a fire blanket its thinner then the car dashboard cover. and you dont have to take it you can use just a few dabs of a hot glue gun it doesnt seal it but holds it in place. anywho if your not free willingly post pics ill demand them! lets see pics!

i am already helping shifsta with his grow and dont say carboard is not an insulator of heat because thats totall bullshit.why do you think tramps like yourself sleep under carboard boxes(to keep heat in)??????.
so stop being a cheap ass and build a proper grow room and not a pc box lined with plywood screwed and glued on with glue which expells toxic fumes and covered with a fire blanket :lol:.
and for your information a fire blanket is not thinner than a vehicles dashboard cover thats why firewalls/blankets are installed in the engine bay and not on the dash dickhead.
now you tell me that a plastic dashboard covering is less fireproof than a fire blanket :confused:

Well Heres some shots.
1. Rear inside exhaust and power supply fake.

2.Front of Tower/ modded. Fake CD-Rom... And added the Picture in the lower clear section... Removed The lcd screen and Gutted the housing to allow for more airflow for my intake.

3.Gutted the tower.

4.Gutted the Power Supply. And took metal sheers and cut off the rear panel to mount it to the opening of the pc with no power supply.

5. Dark pic sorry. Intake in lower front of pc.

6.Shot of the fake power pannel before i added the fan to it, and mounted it.

7.Fake psu in place and damn it looks real.

Nice work on the case shiftsta.

I think you may need to consider that intake a bit more for best results though.
Remember that heat rises, meaning that cold air either stays where it is or it falls, so introducing it at the bottom of the case is not a great idea. It might work with mains powered in-line fans but a poxy 12v pc fan on the other side of the case is unlikely to have enough balls to do much. I'd consider having an intake near the bulb simply because that's where you want the cold air.
Like dopewear, I also find carboard is really useful. To be honest, if you have so much heat that a 23w bulb can set it on fire then you have bigger problems to deal with than cardboard.

Good luck with the grow.

ya my thoughts were with heat rising to have the intake at the bottom at the exhaust at the top to pull the hot air out and to keep a constant flow of air going i also have the option of having a mid way fan on the door pannel. i already sealed off the majority of the case with Hot clue/ Duct tape.
