PC Fan Setup

I currently am running 2 Pc fans inline through a Dc transformer used for keyboards, and old dial up phones. It converts 110 to 12V Dc. The fans have been running very well however, how long do you think they can run constantly without burning out?

Yea i figured if they can run constant in PC'c for a while that this should be fine. Im not even concerned about them dying and having to get new ones, i have plenty of old pcs lying around, i was more worried about them getting hot and sparking or being some kind of fire hazard? One thing i have noticed is that the fans run faster than when they are in PC's, is that due to them not being ran at full power in computers for longer life? Ill get a Pic up. Thanks guys

you should be fine PC fans usually only die when they get too much dust in them(at least this is how they have died on me in the past)

Yea, i mean i was mostly worried bc of the DC adaptor, it is rated for 12V, but the amperage may be different? Well i guess well see how long they last? Are they usually very noisy, im suprised how powerful they are, there arent any bad sounds, just alot of volume

sorry - voltage conversions are out of my area of expertise. As for noise, my vortex-style fans sound like jet engines!

That site has a lot of cool products, i was looking at the cooling systems for motherboards, theres one external one that would be great for a resevoir chiller

they are prob a little louder depending on the size, i mean the fan itself isnt that loud its the ducting and the suction of the air
