Only danger can be when you PC a shitload of corn as the little kernels can, in theory, block the steam vent holes. at the top of the pot.
Not really an issue with a modern PC, they now all have a little plastic safety valve which will melt and fail if things get too hectic in the pot.
If memory serves 45minutes is enough to sterilise, but depending on the grain you use, they may not be cooked through and soft yet.
