I have always loved the idea. I used the for cloning.... Nada. I tried them for germinating.... Nada. I planted 2 germinated seeds into peat pellet pots. They are growing... Barely. The net around the pellet chokes roots. The peat glob doesn't breathe and also stunts growth. Everything I tried, they failed. I threw 'em outside maybe the worms will eat 'em!

On the other hand, everything I've grown in Perlite is thriving!

Peat Pellets for sale cheap!!!!!! (jk)

No way, dude. I've used those for a while. They work great. Not a thing wrong with them. It sounds more like you were over watering them. Operator Error.

yea me to..i used em for years until i got a bubble cloner, used ot use em for seedling for a lil while to


maybe you didnt use em correctly?

Two bean runs Total 20+ all germ in paper towels then put in jiffy pellets with 100% survival rate. and i never Ph the water till they hit the party cups topped off With Fox Farms Ocean Forest

So the verdict is in. Peat Pellets, when used correctly, work just like they were designed to. Who would've thought?

They're either too wet or too dry. I dug 2 seedlings out of em, rinsed off the dirt, & put them in perlite. Perlite breathes, Jiffy's either dry 'em out or suffocate the roots.

Glad to see they work for others. I guess it must just be me....:-?

I'm sure there was some operator error. I mean they grow, but slow as heck. I tried a dome, then no dome, then I said screw it!

They aren't idiot proof. I need idiot proof!:dunce:

peat pellets work great for me. one of the quicker mediums i've used for cloning. are you sure you cloning gel or powder (i prefer gel) is fresh and not contaminated somehow?

I use powder. Do you leave the netting material on? It seemed to choke off bigger roots. I heard once that the netting is supposed to be removed but that defeats the purpose of the clump.

i've done it both ways. i kinda agree with you that the netting slows growth. now i very carefully take it off the "clump" usually stays in one piece if you do it slow and careful enough

haha there is no idiot proof ones...some people have trouble with the peat, my buddy killed lotsa clones befor ehe figured em out...the first time i used em mine were too wet....you gotta keep em moist without them being soaked if you get what i mean? Best way to do it is...soak em to grow em , then put em between your finger and thumb and squeeze the excess water out.....you can mist em if there to dry after that. Dont give up on em man! lol
