Perlite or clay pebbles autopot

What would be a better option for autopot does any one benefit more than the other for the bottom layer in an auto pot as i already have the perlite at hand, thanks

Perlite is inert and has a good capillary action, it prolly doesn't matter when they're older but before roots hit the bottom it ensures they're getting enough.

Clay pebbles idk much about other than I don't like them through ph issues and red dust.

I forgot i had this i'm thinking about giving it a turn alongside 3x dtw

I'm curious how much difference there might be?

I expect dtw feeding 3x a day to be a little better but I doubt it'll justify the added work, who knows?

Nice, i love mine with my 2 little ones to test how they go, mainly worried about nute problems with bottom feeding.... i have the air bases in them which takes away the need for anything in bottom of pot to raise them a bit

Your auto plants look great just keep doing what you're doing.

In recent times I've only vegged using bottom feeding, after plants are established I give them 1.2ec.

To flower idk, I'll keep a eye on them and see what happens.
I've noticed with led the ec needs increasing after flipping, I'll try 1.5 then take it from there?

From memory ionic grew the tastiest weed It'll be interesting to find out if that was coincide, I'm going to be feeding the auto with ionic and the dtw with canna lol

Yeah mine are on 1.2 ec also i need to take sum cuts off them but i think the led is turned up to much for cuts to me in the same tent with ppfd up for those bigger plants

You can put a towel, white packing sheet etc over your prop, enough to diffuse the strong light, when I was used to run a mh veg room that's what I done.

I will Maybe take all cuts off them and start over as i havnt even got my ice cream cakr on flower yet.. thrn that should give me about 5-6 weeks veg with a cut to take new for next run! I think that will work anyway, rather then wait now for weeks

I have built this on my shelf i just dont no what temps will be or if i should leave heated propogator on, would it be ok to layer the heated prop in perlite as i think it gets to hot just on the base20231207_050723.jpg20231207_051232.jpg20231207_050745.jpg

I have used everything from perlite to glass pebbles and currently pumice, they are all pretty much the same. The most important thing is to thoroughly rinse whatever it is you use and always use the Marix disk or some type of weed mat in the base. This stops roots or debris from finding their way into your valve, causing it to stick and overflow. The best option is the copper-coated root control potsocks, the copper stops the roots from growing through and the potsock itself fits snug to the pot and up the sides a couple inches, trapping sludge and grit etc.

Your vegging cabinet is ideal mate, the time it'll save you is untold, you can have seeds and clones ready to veg/flower, monster clones, the time saved each crop adds up over the season so you can fit in a extra crop, depending what your aim is of course.

I've also found the bottom of my prop gets too hot, I've a couple of squares off mylar coated bubble wrap I put in the bottom of the prop, there's room for improvement but it works for now.
