I don't think he was. It has been speculated that he was high on some pain killers due to a back injury.

Possibly, sure. That would put a more acceptable spin on it anyway. Point is, he was obviously intoxicated.

It would definitely have to be a mix. I'm three days in on a sweet script of 10mg percocets X2 every 3 hours for my back and the only thing its affecting on me is I get itchy as hell. When you actually have the pain, you don't really get that messed up. If I smoke a bowl with it, I get a little silly, but nowhere near inebriated.

i had 11 scripts, 5 of them narcotic, for my fibro before i started medicating solely with cannabis. i have always held my own when drinking but when Norco, Soma, Valium, Lyrica, percs get mixed in it took exactly two beers for me to be a frickin' zombie. i can smoke and drink all day long but those pharma meds and alcohol will just turn that world upside down for me lol.

I used to be a democrat and when Clinton was in office and passed NAFTA, I got out of the democratic party and registered as an independent. I never have and never will understand the everyday republican voter let alone their leadership.
With that said, I watch every republican debate. I was wondering when watching the debate in Las Vegas who was going to throw the first punch? At one point even the very conservative audience was booing their candidates for acting like such fools during the debate with all their petty attacks on one another.
And now we have Herman Cain, really? Anne Coulter said the other day that 'our blacks are better than their blacks,' meaning democratic blacks. Our blacks? Really? Herman Cain?
I'll vote for Obama, again.

You can take snippets of any prolonged speech and make the speaker look bad, crazy or such. Dean looked like a lunatic but the people who were there say he was in context with the moment. Same with Perry, he was feeding the crowd.
Perry seems like a Bush part deux though. Have you really listened to Newt ?
