ph balance my water with fox farms?

I'm sure my question has already been answered but I haven't been able to find it. I am growing in ffof with added perlite and a Lil coco for veg. I use tap water that I filter with a carbon filter and let sit out to dechlorinate. Well the ph of that water after it sits out is between 8 and 8.3. My question is do I have to lower my ph of my water? I'm not using any nutrient solutions, just water for beginning of veg. Thanks

yes, always make sure the water is between 5.8 and 6.8 before watering plant. no nutes or with nutes. doesn't matter. with OF i would keep it closer to 6.5 to 6.8

Thank you very much. I know super soil has dolomite lime for ph buffering but wasn't sure about of.

chuck don't grow organic he just repeats stuff he hears.... I dunno for sure since you put other stuff in it but that ocean forest by itself would have been fine w 8.3

I have been reading up on this and have found a lot of conflicting info, but I think the majority say to add a little lime and don't worry about it in organic Ocean Forest. I found a few say they have problems with the ph of OF. Bottom line is you're going to have to keep and eye on them and if you notice any problems, start checking that ph

I have to agree that phing water is only vital while adding a nutrient solution to either soilessmedium or hydro. Or even in soil eith synthetic nutes.

I agrees with not phing unless using nutes. Try doing a comparison, see which plants responsed better
Organics doesn't doesn't worry about ph of water as It will not change the soil ph. It should be properly buffered ahead of time.
Add one more vote to the no PHing.
I have hard water, haven't PHed anything in years.
Organics are a different entity.
Hydroponics on the other hand.. PH is crucial.

by reading the plant, Donkey, you are a joke who doesn't even grow. If you don't know how to adjust your soils ph, you should stay on your computer as a non grower, Donkey

With a pH of 8 or over I would be testing the water a bit deeper. Especially checking total alkalinity. Garnering that info before proceding is the only way to know if you need to adjust it down or not. It would also indicate which pH down would best be suited for you water source.
