Ph during flush (DWC)

Relatively new hydro grower here (DWC), so please don't jump down my throat if this is a stupid question lol but when you flush, do you ph the water?? I'm running straight tap which initially reads in the low 7s and I'm wondering if I need to bring the ph down to within the 5.8ish range or can I leave it as is, since no nutrients are present in the water??

Thank you in advance and happy growing!

Personally I would feed til the end, maybe a light feed, but since you're not, I don't believe ph'ing makes a difference now. If you're not feeding then there's no need for the ph to be in range for uptake of nutrients. Either way water still gets drank.

how many plants you got? can you flush some and not flush others?
I'm currently running 3 (lost one in veg) in a 4x4 tent. In all honesty, I'd find it hard to convince myself NOT to flush. I don't run organic nutes, so I'm overly paranoid about the harshness of the smoke. It's all for personal use, so I'd rather not be stuck smoking something that hurts my lungs. I've read a few threads about people who don't flush, but haven't come across any information that fully convinces me that I don't need to

You are not flushing your feeding plain water. I would ph anyway but that's me. I don't flush, I feed like normal (gh trio) but the last week or so I don't do rez change. I top up with phed h20 so there is still stuff in the rez it just gets a little weaker. The plant don't flush out in nature so why do it? My smoke is not harsh but I don't rush the curing process that's where your harsh will come from. I can take a huge bong rip and it's smooth as can be.

fair enough. do yourself a favor and don't flush 1, flush the other 2. you'll convince yourself i think of which is best.

about 3 weeks from target date, you "should" see/realize that they need much less nutes too. just a FYI.

That drying/curing process is a bitch haha especially with where I'm located. This next batch that I have coming up, I'll be able to dial it in, but the summer months are a real struggle to keep the temps in line

I'll have to do that. I'm actually already currently running a side by side with different nutrients. I've been using the entire floranova line, but this go around I decided to see if all the bottles are worth it. I'm running two with flora nova (one is the 4 part and one is the 8 part) and then im doing one with Jack's 321. Maybe I'll choose one of the floranova girls to hold off on flushing

I used to love gh’s FloraNova base. I ran the full line in hydro, wound up dropping out the rapid start, but kept the others. I found the new label FloraNova wasn’t as good as it used to be before Monsanto bought out GH. I was always 250-300 ppms lower in my tank with the new label. I’ve got the whole line here and I’m not running it. I switched to the Jack’s last grow, super easy and it’s real clean after you harvest. It does burn my tips though.
I used to flush with gh‘s FloraKleen, but stopped after I joined this site. Now I just cut back my ppm’s after the buds are getting done looking. I run them on tap water a few days at the end usually too and I stopped PHing the tap water as all I was doing was adding ppms to it at the very end.

I grew for a bit in hydro roughly 10 years ago and loved floranova, but never had the cash to run the full line. After doing so with my first run in 10 years, I felt like I was just flushing money down the toilet, so I decided to try something else and do a side by side. I'm roughly half way through flower on this run and the Jack's 321 is on par with the the 4 part/8 part floranova girls. The simplicity may convince me to make the switch, but the customer service that I've experienced has been absolute shit. For me, customer service can make or break a sale, but the results have me facing a tough decision in a month or so

I had good customer service from Jack’s. I called them up and got to talk to one of the guys in the video about my tip burning. He recommended keeping my PH at 5.8. It didn’t cure my problem, but I’m getting better results with a lower PH in my hydro setup.

Hmm really?? Literally that's it?? No additives?? Care to elaborate a bit??
He”s not the only member on here that’ll tell you that. It was news to me to the first time I read it. Like the Lucas formula, that’s just using the micro and bloom from the flora 3 part, but they use it from start to finish.

just like mustgrow said, it's based on Lucas formula 1:2 ratio of micro:bloom MaxiBloom is also a 1 part dry nute based on Lucas.

you "shouldn't" need anything else (maybe some Epsom salt if you see a bit of a Mg issue) even with RO.

i've never tried Jacks 321 but I love Jack's RO or Tap formulas. 1 part dry mix, no additives needed but i do add Silica and Fulvic acid.
