pH Fluctuation?

Dank You, More Please

I'm having some trouble getting my pH in my DWC system to stay balanced.
I check it multiple times a day, and as long as I'm on top of it it's pretty easy to get it to stay around 5.8-6 but a lot of times, especially in the morning, I'll go to check the pH and it has drifted up, sometimes only to about 6.5 or so but I've checked it after only 8 hours after the last adjustment and it was almost 8.0!!

1. Ive had my pH meter calibrated regularly, last time was about 5 days ago.

2. I mix my own pH down from dry acid crystals that I have for use with my pool/hot tub. I do 1tsp per 16oz of water, and that gives me a solution that has a pH of exactly 2.0, and that solution is what I add to my DWC tank.

Is there any way to buffer this so it doesn't fluctuate as much?

what kind of ph meter do you have? I just bought a good ph/ec/ppm/temp meter and found out my old ph meter was WAY off even with constant calibrations compared to the new top of the line meter I just purchased.

do you use hydroton? you need to clean it well and make sure that its not raising your ph

test it out in another container and see if the ph rises,
I had to soak for a COUPLE of days with mine to get the ph to stabilize

pathogens cause your ph to raise due to high res temp add H202 29% at 1.7ml per liter. other than a new medium that wasn't ph'd down really is the only other thing that would make it jump 2 full in 8 hrs
