PH for SOIL in EBB/FLOW

Ok, LOTS of threads with lots of convoluted garbage and a simple range answer would be great.

First time growing with soil in a ebb and flow hydro system.

Running PH between 5.8 and 6.0 . I know soil should be higher, but technically, its hydro... (and just a medium within) .

Should I run at 6.2 - 6.6 ? thanks for any info.

sound like over watered plants to me. how often you plan on flooding your soil a day.

They were being watered 3 times a light cycle (every 4 hours) in roughly 1.5 gallon pots. I thought it was too much. I cut it down to 2 times for the past week and they seem about the same.

I definitely gave them too much nutrients as I was used to growing chilli and tomatoes. However, that was 2 weeks ago and flushed it out to be at 1.6 - 1.7EC (Canna flores + a little bio juice - well under what they recommended)

I am used to watering all the time with clay and am pretty sure that they will need at least two cycles. The flood is also low i.e. only rises up about half an inch for 15 minutes. I also usually use tiny pots , but it worked fine for tomatoes and chillies .

the plants seem to be growing/budding slowly but surely, but the symptoms are certainly not straight forward like normally. As a result I thought maybe keeping the same PH range as clay/coco might be a mistake.

I was considering watering them with bio juice from a watering can once at lights on for a few days to see how they go.

if your using soul you dont flood at all. you just water when needed. you keep flooding you will most likely get root rot. pix help use see how bad your plants are and how to help.

thanks for the assistance. Never had root rot for any other species on the tray whilst flooding (tomatoes / chillies) hence thinking they are still recovering from 3 (!!!!) EC...Im an idiot. I also had some humidity issues (70-75) for about 2 weeks.

I think these conditions stunted their growth but not sure.
