ph meter calibration

So I bought this digital handheld pH meter yesterday. It says to calibrate it you have to use these packs of the stuff that came with it and mix them with water at a certain temperature. I don't have any way to check water temperature right now. Everything I read says turponator is supposed to be a pH of 6.0 . Do you all think I could calibrate it using that.

I think you have to have a solution of stuff that is at 4.0ph and 7.0ph. There should be a little yellow screwdriver in your kit, to adjust the potentiometer.

Yeah there is and it came with two packs of stuff At two different pH levels I was just wondering if I could just calibrate it if I knew what the ph of what I was testing was

So you think it'll be fine to calibrate it without checking temperature
It took me a while before I was interested in a meter,I bought the yellow one (cheap) I
tried to adjust PH but never was sure of it,so I quit with it.....Picked it back up a 14 days
later and it was right I was wrong.I been using it ever since.
If you google it will tell you what to use to set ph. I think it might have been vinegar.no
I don't remember sorry google it. Now I like my meter,I use the liquid to check behind it.
Temp is not that imp.as long as room temp.

The one I got is the yellow one cheapest one also. I just used my liquid test on my solution and then calibrated my meter to what my liquid test said. But I'll look it up and get a better method

I just finally broke down and bought a decent Oakton. I think I only paid 40 bucks for it. A few years back when I started out I bought one of those red Hanna meters that was relatively cheap but it worked good until a few months ago. When I went to look for a new PH meter on Amazon.com I couldn't believe how much the price had dropped on the Oaktons from just a few years back. Decided to get the Oakton this time and it is much nicer.

I calibrate my meter using fresh milk,to 6.7.Its not an exact ph but it works for me.
Milk becomes more acidic the older it gets.
