PH problem with Greenhouse Big Bang...

  • Hey everyone.
im growing a GHS Big Bang under cfl lights. I have a few different plants going, they are under 2 t-8 6500k bulbs and 21 CFL's at 23 watts each. Total of 40 000 lumens. Lights are about 4 inches above the plants. Temps 77-82. Humidity 50-60%. I dont over water, only water when the soil is almost dry.
the Big Bang is in a 5 gallon smart-pot style bag. Has Pro-Mix soil/perlite/worm castings.
It is still in Veg at a little over a month old, it got dropped and stunted its growth when it was very small. It recovered VERY well and is growing like crazy. Its so bushy u cant even find the main stalk easily lol.
I feed it General Organics BioThrive every 2nd watering. It was started at half of a regular strength, on the 3rd or 4th feeding i fed it a full strength dose. It was loving it and now, in the last few days, i see yellowing on the leaves, and just today a couple small brown spots.
I had never PH'd the soil before. I ordered a PH meter, and for now i bought a soil test kit. The PH was near 8
I suspected the soil was Alkaline, and it is. The CIL kit isnt super accurate but better than nothing. Im going to the fish store to look for PH strips today.
Is the high PH stoping the Nitrogen intake of the plant? How can i lower it without a PH meter. ive looked all over town and cant find one, or even a PH strip. I ordered a PH meter off ebay but it takes 3 weeks or more.
The plant was doing so good and i wanted to put it into flower in a week but not if its not really healthy.
    Questions
    1. Is it a nitrogen deficiency?
    2. Is there a safe way to lower the PH, even a little for now, till i get a PH meter using just PH strips(if i can find them) and a soil test kit from CIL. It tests PH, and NPK, but the PH is a very small range test, from like 6.8-8.4 or something. I will buy some PH down from the pet store today too.

I am also growing a Northen Lights, Sour Diesel, White Widow, The Church, NYC diesel Auto, Speedy Gonzales Auto all feminized and a few bagseeds.

heres a pic of some of the leaves on the big bang. hard to see in the pics but there are yellow bands going through the laves and overall a light yellowy green colour, it used to be nice dark green all over.

Oh ya, and i noticed when i first started the big bang it had a 9 finger variety to the leaves, i then noticed the new growth had 11 fingers per leaf.
Now the newer growth has 13 FINGERED LEAVES!! is that normal?
    peace

Dolomite lime helps bring it to 7. I use 2T/ gal into my soil mix. But you would need to transplant.

Are you PHing everything she gets fed? Might that be the cause.

Take a soil sample down to a garden store, they can test for you and tell what is going on.

i bought an aquarium ph test kit. test water from 6.0-7.8. My tap water i have been feeding it is 7.6PH. That, along with the organic nutrients has probably put the PH too alkaline. I am going to add some PH 6.6 water to it and flush it out with that. Ill let it sit for an hour then i will use my soil test kit to retest the soil PH. i will keep sdjusting like that until i get the soil PH to 6.5-6.8. I will use the PH -+ that came with the ph test kit. I think that will be a good range.
What do you;s think?

Just tested the PH of my tap water, its 7.6. I tested the soil after i flushed it with tap water last nite it is down to about 7.6 lol. I also tested for nitrogen/phosphorous/potassium and the soil is very deficient in all 3. Dont know why as ive been giving it General Organics BioThrive Grow 4-3-3, along with molasses.
Im going to flush again with ph 6.4 water with full dose of nutes and test the soil again. then i can see where im at. the plant looks worse today.
