PH problem.

Hi guys and girls

I have just put 2 super lemon haze and 2 blue venom into flower, they have had 1 week. The lemon haze are fine and the ph is staying around the same but the ph keeps dropping on the 2 blue venom, i had the same problem on my last grow(which was my first ever grow) but that was towards the end of flowering so i just guessed the plants were taking on more water than nuites.

I have follwed the Canna guide which says i should have an EC of 2.1.

Is there any other reason why the ph could be dropping? I know blueberry is sensitive to nuites and the 2 plants that are having problems both contain blueberry.

I have added ph nuteral water and taken the EC down to 1.7.

Basically i was just wanting some feedback on whether im doing the right thing and whether people think that the ph dropping is due to the plants taking on more water than nuites?

Thanks in advance.

Oh i forgot to mention im using 51/2 gallon bubble buckets and the full Canna range of nuites.

do they eat more food than the others? check your ppm before you top them off. U want it to stay the same as the water goes down. This should help some. Some changes in ph are normal and fine. I wouldnt even adjust the ph unless it is out of the normal growing range, no need to keep it at an exact number.

Did you start them on flowering nutez as soon as you flipped? I personally dont right off the bat, but I'm sure others do. I give mine a week on the usual 1/2 strength VEG nutez then after they sex out hit them with 3/4 strength Flowering nutez and then go from there. I rock 1000-1200 ppmz of nutez during Flower. Tried goin all the way up to 1500 last round and I'm not sure if it hurt or helped em so yea...your PH drops because you have too much nutez I do believe. If your nutez are just right then your PH will remain somewhat stable for longer. If your PH goes UP its because your plants are eating more than they are drinking ;) Most of the time your PH will go up. In case of drastically low PH I would flush and mix up a new batch of water ;)

Thanks for the advice dude. The Canna guide has just changed actually and now they say to veg for a week or two still using veg nuites but with bloom boost, then when they start to flower you add the flowering nuites. I think ill try this next time.

nutes are too strong or you have a root problem. what do the roots look like?

The roots seem fine and all look healthy and there is no bad smell coming from then so i guess its a nute problem. I have changed the water in each bucket today using about 3/4 nutes this time so ill see how it goes.

I was still having the same problem so i have now taken EC down to 1.2 which is about half of the recommended amount.

If it still keeps dropping i will then flush her out with ph balanced water incase of have salt build up.

Bud Baby: different strains up take their nutrients at different rates. I assume you have them segregated into separate tubs or buckets. Where one strain takes up more nutrients than the other, their water/nutrient mix pH will change more dramatically. I had a similar problem earlier this year and I panicked. I consulted everybody and when I finally went to one of our hydro instructors he said, "Read you plants and if they look okay just correct their pH back down to 5.8. and this two will pass." And it did. Different strains are a lot like children, no two are exactly the same. If they look healthy, keep doing what you're doing, but if they start burning or looking sickly flush 'em and start over with a weaker batch of fresh nutes. Don't stress out. Enjoy the experience. Thanks HSA dude, they do look very healthy and i can get ph stable for 24-36 hours before it drops so i think i may just keep adjusting it and see if it passes.

I had to lower the EC on my other Blue venom also but that one is stable now, the one that im still having problems with is my runt plant so maybe because its small it isnt taking in as much nuites.

The super lemon haze on the other hand are drinking anything i give them lol, I have had to tie them back twice already:)
