ph question

Hi!
I have a young plant going. Maybe 2 weeks or so. I just started checking the ph of the water, and added a little bit of root nutes.
Some of the leaves show signs of cal mag deficency probably due to the water being to alkaline. I was wondering if I have to change the soil
at this point, or can I just start managing the ph now, and things will be ok????
