PH quetion..

What exactly is the right PH for DWC? There seems to be so many different ranges of PH levels that its making it so confusing. I was told to keep it in-between 5.5-6.5 for hydro. Then I was reading to keep it between 5.7-6.2. So for the 3 part GH series.. week 6 of veg, what would the ideal ph level be? I've been keeping mine around 5.9 and I'm having problems with the leaves spotting up.

I recently noticed that when I change the water in my buckets and I PH it to 5.7 stable if I wait a day then the water PH will rise by itself. I took a bucket and filled it with new water and nuited it and PH'd it and put a cover on it and waited 2 days and sure enough the PH went to 6.3. Check them often.

I have sucess with 5.5 -6.0 But I always shoot for 5.8
I check PH and PPM before bed every night
I swirl the water in the bucket with the meter while testing

I aim low during veg as my buckets seem to raise over time. During flower I have read and noticed my PH drops now rather than
raising. aim around 5.7 during veg and 6.3 right now in flower that way they have room to fluctuate depending period.
I would be in there way too much if I tried to keep it at a consistent number.

Try keeping the water level just below the basket. I was having the same problems you are describing, but when I stop filling up above the bottom of the basket, my PH really settled down. I PH to 5.8 for both veg and flower. I normally have to PH down a little on the second day, but then t stays rock solid at 5.8 - 5.9 for the rest of the week.

Is it possible to buy a bad bottle of ph up or down? Mine just keeps rising dramatically... been using a lot of down...it acts like vinegar..

I have not used a lot of different products. I can tell you I do not like the powered ones. I started using General Hydroponocs PH up and down... I did not need the ph up until recently. I am about a week away from harvest. Her feeding patterns have changed.

I have to use around 1 1/2 tablespoons to get my tap water down to 5.8. I change my water weekly. I usually have to ad around 1 teaspoon the next night to het her back down to 5.8, and then she stay rock solid the rest of the week.

How well are you keeping the light away from your water? You may have algae. That will make PH go up constantly.

I dropped my PH down to around 5.5-5.6 and she really is coming back to life! She grew almost 2 inches in the last 2 days. I changed over my nutrients from floranova grow to the 3 part GH series which is great stuff.

With GH 3 part, I have followed the Lucas Formula with great results. Eliminates the "GH Grow" bottle. Saves you a little bit of money. Just an idea.
