Ph readings

Right folks I need some more advice please.
I am growing ami haze in hydro. My water is set at 5.8-6.1, however when I check the ph it drops significantly to 5.2-5.4. Previously when I have grown as soon as I have set the ph it remains sort of with the 5.8-6.1 range. Is there anything that would cause the ph to get lower? Pretty sure my ph meter is good as i bought it new at the start of this grow

Need some more info on the grow. Nutes, water pH and ppm. Some nutes are buffered to hit a target pH and will tend to return to those levels until the buffers are used up.

Do you set the ph and then add nutes or add nutes then check the ph?
Can you calibrate you ph meter? Just cuz its new doesnt mean its set right.
Get the liquid ph drops to double check your water since there is an issue use the drops till it gets figured out. Whenever I see a big ph swing I go to the drops so I am not adding up and down for no reason if my probe went bad.

Calibrate pH pen. Mix nutes. Test pH. Adjust pH. Wait half hour and check pH. Adjust as needed. Water plants or fill reservoir.

I have a small pond pump in the container I mix my nutes in to circulate the solution and mix it up.
